Used to be awesome 30 years ago when it was truly a "Hidden Beach"( it's nickname). It was a natural beach. So natural infact skinny dipping was common during the day Over the years Minneapolis and it's police force have taken away privacy and freedoms (any open alcohol is $125 ticket and it has been cleared of trees and vegetation so they can monitor closely, but it IS still a great place to go for hippie vibe sharing of food or whatever someone might have to offer.🤪
Update. First time back in a long time. Still a totally awesome place. Great friendly people and the law enforcement seems to have let up considerably. Met some down to Earth people and swam in the middle of the lake for an hour and a half. The water was cold but clean....
Read moreWonderful day, fun, chill people from 1 to 81 all enjoying the beautiful day by the lake! Tends to be a bit of a younger, alternative beach with lots of children and parents. I go there several times a week in peek summer and have never seen any trouble. The neighborhood association helps fund a pair of officers there during most of the time the beach is open + 9 am - 10pm I believe. Porta potties and an old hand pump well are the fanciest amenities. But Cedar Lake is clean and spring-fed, and the sunsets are outstanding...
Read moreI just love this point beach....it's perfect early in the morning when all the wildlife is out and the swimmers are practicing going between hidden beach and east beach. Its the first beach to get the summer in the morning too. The picture I posted is actually takes from the parkway and looking from the East side.
