Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park — Attraction in Minneapolis

As far as I can tell, this park has something for all ages. It has a wonderful toddler play area. The playground for the bigger kids is great as well. There are 3 well-kept baseball fields, a basketball court, 2 tennis courts, and a volleyball court. The park itself also has large open spaces and multiple picnic tables and benches.

Another thing sets this park apart- the small sculpture garden with 4 benches that include quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The toddler play area includes a little pretend shop that has a little explanation of the black inventor of refrigeration. At the bigger playground, three steps the children take to get onto the jungle gym are modeled into...

One of my favorite neighborhood parks in South Minneapolis! It can be tough to find parks that are appropriate for little ones but this one has a little train playground that is perfect for kids 3. Adding the Kingfield Farmer's Market to this park was an awesome add (back in 2021). We haven't used the pool yet but but undoubtedly will once it warms up. My only complaint is that the mallets are missing from the xylophone but hopefully they'll be replaced (and not stolen) again...

Absolutely LOVED this place. Our first visit to Minnesota, we stayed close by.There are plaques with quotes from The Reverend Martin Luther King, as well as informative ones.
