If you're interested in aviation and how the Air Force and Northwest Airlines impacted this part of North Dakota, then this is a must visit attraction. The museum contains an extensive collection of aircraft , artifacts, displays, mockups and more covering military aviation and the significant role North Dakota plays in protecting the United States. There are a large number of aircraft on display in the museum as well as in the annex building and on the grounds outside. Many of the aircraft in the annex building are still in flying condition. In addition to the military, there is an extensive collection of artifacts, memorabilia and airport equipment from Northwest Airlines, the primary airline that served Minot for over 50 years until they merged with Delta in 2008. The only thing they don't have is a Northwest aircraft on display, but who knows when someone or some other museum might donate one. The admission price is very reasonable. Though the building looks modest from outside, there is so much to see here and you should allow at least 3 hours for your visit. Don't pass this one up, you will be glad...
Read moreMy son and I decided to check this museum out because we both enjoy aviation history. We went on a Sunday, there was no wait to get in and the tickets were very affordable. The museum had artifacts from WWI and WWII. Amongst the aviation artifacts they also had historical firetrucks. You're able to get a chance to see different parts of different aircrafts and how they work. The pictures, the uniforms displayed, the medals, and more usher you back to a time we could never truly imagine today for not museum's like this one. At the end of your walk through the many displays, your last hangar to venture through has a Huey helicopter you can take pictures of while sitting at the controls or as a passenger. We would highly recommend going here for a visit. They have so much history to offer inside and outside. The staff is so kind and helpful and the tickets are very affordable. If you would like to make a cash donation to the museum make sure to bring some money with you, the resources are used for...
Read moreVisited on 7.11.2025 during a day adventure to Minot, North Dakota. This place is the Gem of Minot, and the museum is worth experiencing. There are exhibits of the Air Force Base in Minot and artifacts from World War I until the present. There is a hanger full of airplane restoration projects and another one full of different flyable civilian aircraft. These are definitely amazing to see. The highlight of the museum is the hanger full of operational World War II fighter planes. There are numerous P- 51 Mustangs and the rare Supermarine Spitfire. A P-40 Flying Tiger and a C-47 Troop Transport are also on display, along with a Hawker Hurricane. Fortunately, I got to witness a P-47 Thunderbolt and a Mustang start up and soar off the runway for to air show in another state. KUDOS to Narmeen and Kohen for allowing me to take numerous pictures of the amazing aircraft in the WWII hanger. HIGHLY RECOMMEND visiting if you venture...
