My toddler and I drove 1 hour from Florida to go to the gardens. I’m very sad that I wasn’t allowed in because of what I’m wearing. The gentleman at the gate said “this is a family place”. It’s 75 degrees and super sunny. I’m wearing maternity shorts and a shirt that shows some of my pregnant belly. I can’t afford to be buying lots of maternity clothes so I make what I have work. I guess I’ll come back in the winter all bundled up. Or maybe never. Looks beautiful online but the parking is a bit confusing. I wasn’t sure where to go.

Update: I took my toddler back to the car and sat him on my lap while I tried to figure out where to go next. The old man came out from behind the locked gate and walked over to the parking lot and started walking close to my car. It was very upsetting. I had to get out of the car to put my kid in the car seat.

They let a teen girl in wearing a...

Disgusted with the treatment of my friend who drove over an hour to have a pleasant afternoon with her toddler son. My friend is 6 months pregnant and wore maternity shorts and a shirt that showed some of her pregnant belly. She was turned away at the door because the old dude there said he “didn’t like what she was wearing” and that “this is a family establishment”. Where on earth do you think families come from?

The same man also came out and walked around my friend’s car and made her feel so uncomfortable and scared that she cried while trying to put her toddler in his car seat. How dare you?

Will never spend any time or money here due to the blatant disrespect and downright creepiness shown to my friend, and I will make sure I actively recommend not coming here to anyone who...

We stopped by to see the waterfall and the koi fish and well I don't know where to begin,, you enter a gate then you have to go to the souvenir / admission shop pay to enter the garden / woods. I was not impressed because there's really nothing to see but woods, trees, and forestry!!!! I understand it suppose to be a Garden, but it's really nothing to see, NO BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS,NO BEAUTIFUL SCENERY just overgrown bushes, trees, and trails!!! You can get off track easily cause there is NO signs to point you in the right direction ,,,,BUT the biggest disappointment was the Waterfall,it was so small but the koi fish in the small little pond was beautiful, well my final review is it should be FREE! Or maybe we went the wrong time of...

There is some pretty scenery here, but we got the impression the gardens aren't well-maintained. There aren't many flowers, and the "quarry" is a tub of water with one water lily, as far as we could tell. The conservatory is really depressing, a tiny building with not one blossom. We are members of an AHS reciprocal garden, so we didn't buy tickets in advance. The website said to call when we arrived, but not sure why that was necessary. A man let us in the gate, and we went into the building to present our card for admission. The lady behind the counter likes to talk a great deal, and share a ton of information about the place before you can get into the gardens to actually see them.

As members of the Corpus Christi Botanical Garden we have reciprocal privileges at many other botanical Gardens nationally. Some could argue a five-star rating would be generous but a garden that does many things should perhaps be very well regarded as a local treasure. We enjoyed our 1 hour morning visit on a very warm day to tour the numerous attractions of this well-maintained facility. Individually taken Mini of Gardens settings may not be up to a five-star rating. Taken on the hole ambitious effort on so many topics it was very enjoyable. I may have given them an extra star for the Shaded parking.
