One of Mobile's greatest (underdeveloped) resources, with a beautiful lake and bird activity, decent playground, nice footbridge, ample walking trails and disc golf course. This little bit of wilderness is actually quite a large green space for a city. Amphitheater and lots of flat, wide open spaces w mostly pines. Investment by the city in the park is low, even though the disc golf cages are new, sidewalk investment is good and swing areas upgraded. The bathrooms are horrible, the parking seems like it is from the 70's, not ADA compliant, and it is just doesn't feel vibrant. What saves it is the size and natural beauty, ample outdoor sculpture and art museum, Playhouse in the Park, convenient recycling center, Botantical Gardens, baseball facility (inadequate parking) and tennis center (parking inadequate). Go up from here!

Fantastic park. Beautiful scenery. I love the wildlife, walking trails and picnic area. It's a fantastic place for birthday parties, a morning or afternoon walk, run, bike and don't forget the furbabies. The park is always clean and the landscape is maintained. There is are trails across the bridge behind the museum to the left and right. The left trail is a bit more challenging for those of us willing to go the extra mile and leads up the hill around to the tennis courts and back to Ziegler. The restrooms are on the main park side near Ziegler are very clean and usually open during park hours, they lock at dusk. Enjoy the park, keep it clean, don't feed the ducks (several we're killed a year or so ago, people feed them but complained about the poop on the walkway) feed the seagulls and have a wonderful day.

Soooooo I can check EXPERIENCE MARDI GRAS off my #BucketList. I went to Mobile AL and had a absolutely eventful time. While there I took a morning walk in this park. I wish I could say brisk but I was in the company of JD#7 the night before and I was walking it off.🤣😂. The park is gorgeous and I had never seen a #frisbeegolfcourse what a odd concept but look fun. They the trees tagged with plaques so u could know what they are. I would have given them a 5th star but unfortunately they have some housekeeping issues happening. 1. The long water bridge was closed. 2. The trail reading signs where in very bad shape. The elements have taken their toll on them. 3. I looked all around and saw no reading plaque for the train or the plane so I'm wondering why they where there.

I've been going to this park since I was young. Back then, they had pedal boats you could rent. The park is still pretty much the same, except for the pedal boats. It's one of the bigger parks in Mobile. Has a playground/swings, picnic/party pavilions (reserve ahead of time) with grilling areas, walking trails, bridge to the other side of the park or to visit the Mobile Museum of Art, Botanical Gardens or other attractions, the Japanese Gardens are across Ziegler Blvd. (a short walk). If you visit the park, make you bring drinks/snacks. There's usually an ice cream truck there, but not always. Also, there's only one set of restrooms at the park, close to the playground area. Those are the only ones I know of. Trees/plants are sometimes marked with there nickname/scientific name. Bring some bread to feed the ducks/geese/turtles at the lake. I think there's a disc golf course there, but not sure.

To reserve a pavilion, go to cityofmobile.org, under the Government tab is Parks & Recreation. Make sure you choose a park, a table number, date and time(s). You "purchase" (it's free) a permit and a reservation will be set for the time(s) you choose. You will be emailed a receipt and that will serve as your proof, in case there's an issue with the pavilion. Water/electricity may be available to the...

Seemed like a nice park from the pictures. I did have some help from the young man I spoke with last year (2020) to make Reservations along with Lina who was helpful/not at the same time…I was planning a family gathering from out of town and over time it was just difficult communicating with the park about my reservations for our family weekend June 19,2021. I was given last minute notice about the park repairs, no outlets, switch in pavilions, etc. Ridiculous and unprofessional! The coordinator of the park kept switching our confirmed pavilions multiple times like musical chairs…even though I made reservations last summer 2020 and was given a confirmation via email. I understand it was free the reservations but I had people from out of town and locals expecting to meet here and on top of that a storm came that weekend. Unfortunately, not the best experience here and everything was a last minute notice from them or not much of an explanation. Park needs major upgrades and a better system. On the bright side we were able to find a back up plan to accommodate us...
