Mobile Concepts — Attraction in Mokena

I recently had the pleasure of entrusting Mobile Concepts with servicing two of my vehicles, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the results.

Having experienced issues stemming from another business’s shortcomings, Mobile Concepts stepped in and rectified the situation with professionalism and expertise (on my old car). Not only did they address these issues promptly, but they also provided invaluable advice and recommendations regarding audio equipment.

What truly sets Mobile Concepts apart is their commitment to going above and beyond for their customers. When my last vehicle exhibited signs of water damage, they took the time to try to determine the source, did everything they could to help and informed me of the issues and concerns they had. No car owner wants to receive news like that but they were compassionate and supportive.

I ended up having to purchase another vehicle and of course, I brought my new(er) vehicle back to Mobile Concepts to install tint, new speakers, and a subwoofer. They were also able to replace my cracked taillight housing cover and even installed a license plate mount on the front of my vehicle. Their attention to detail and dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction are truly commendable.

Throughout the entire process, Mobile Concepts maintained clear and prompt communication, keeping me informed every step of the way. Even when I returned with concerns about my Bluetooth connectivity post-installation, they handled the situation with patience and kindness, quickly resolving the issue (which, embarrassingly, turned out to be a simple operator error on my part).

I'm sorry I finally got around to posting this, this was done about 2 months ago. As I felt like after I left the shop that we were ripped off, I'm sorry but I don't how else to word it. My husband and I were under the impression that the steering controls were working minus the volume controls, but none of them are working. To top it off the installer that did the install told us when we made the appointment that it would roughly $350 no problem hooking up the steering controls. If we wouldn't have heard that we were just going to install the sub box and amp to the stock radio. So we got the radio and amp installed for $472 with no steering controls, so I hope that makes sense when you read this, that my husband and son had put our sons radio, amp, and sub box in but my husband didn't know how to do the steering controls that we were told wouldn't be a problem. So I guess I'm a little upset that we were charged for troubleshooting a problem that wasn't fixed, and we weren't called that there was any issue to give the go ahead and continue troubleshooting at my expense so that is why I don't want to take my car back there. I was very depressed to think that we spent that much money for a radio and amp install, so much so that I was sick to my stomach when I pulled away and realized none of the steering controls worked. Also the bass didn't hit all that well when I was outside of the shop because it was in the open I guess but my husband tweaked the amp and radio for a while and got it to work the way I wanted it to sound. I really don't know what to do at this point because I don't like feeling like I got robbed when I paid for something and then didn't get what I was explained would be working if not in full at least partial, ie volume not working on steering controls.

Update - I finally got a chance to take my car to another shop to see about the steering wheel controls.... The PAC adapter, PAC SWI-RC Steering Wheel Control Adapter, for the steering wheel controls was not there!!! It was stolen by this company beware. I have the receipt on Crutchfield still to prove I purchased it and everyone I showed my car to knows that when I got the car back the steering wheel controls never worked after they touched, at least I...

Man... the level of disappointment is unreal after dealing with this shop. Now I won’t say I’ve had a bad experience with the owner he hasn’t rubbed me wrong in any way. My entire experience is with Justin and this entire review is based off that experience so readers keep that in mind. I contacted them for a custom box simply put. I ended up purchasing a box, subs, amps, install, and more based on recommendations from Justin and his claim of 25+ years doing audio and his supposed knowledge level. I will say after this purchase and the experience I had trying to be a actual satisfied customer I won’t ever spend another dime nor recommend anyone to have any work done here. I attempted to have them inspect my system to double check the work they did. They claimed to be too busy. So I paid someone else to inspect the system and I had 3 other outside opinions from shops with much more reputable status than this one. They all informed me. The Box was improperly sized,designed and tuned for the vehicle and subs they sold me mind you, the amp I had was better than the one they sold me and they sold me a faulty amp, the subs were improperly wired in the subwoofer enclosure, the ground was installed in a less than stellar location. I called to get the specs on my subwoofer box they told me that the guy who built the box mysteriously quit and they have absolutely no way of finding any of the specs for the box they installed in my car. And any thing I say I’ve physically seen or know Justin immediately tries to discredit anything I have ever tried to say. When I told them I was not happy with this extremely subpar work they told me I should spend even more money. Unfortunately I will be spending more money elsewhere to replace essentially everything they sold me and I have someone currently going over everything they touched as I don’t trust any of the work at this point. Trust me you won’t know you’re being screwed until you’ve spent money and need them to help. If you’re buying car audio of any kind I highly highly suggest you look elsewhere.
