Mokena Main Park — Attraction in Mokena

The Parade Was excellent ! I had shoulder surgery and of course in a sling almost every driver or participant asked me if I was ok from the first responders to Waste management the boat and the list goes on goes to show you we have a great community! The fireworks display was outstanding from theMokena Park District who hosted the event to the events that took place inflatables for children the cannons and the participation of the community winning raffles to light them off to The music being played during the the great display donated by the PIPEFITTERS union to the park district employees taking action to ensure the setup was accurate and of course our wonderful Mokena PD to ensure the safety of all the community Thank you again to All For yet another year of decades of the 4th of July festivities ! I've driven by this park many times and never even noticed the sign for it, until yesterday! So I went there and although I didn't explore as much as I'd like, I plan to soon. What drew me in was the SHADE! Every park I've visited has it's own special interests but most lack shade which I'm longing for because of very hot days. This park has it, even shaded areas in the parking lot, which again, I've had difficulty finding. I'm looking forward to really checking...

It's a nice park to play baseball. It just felt kind of weird playing a baseball game for 13u and the fence was like 200 ft, which is not for 13u so there were so many homes runs for both teams which in a 13u field would not be. I think this place needs to update their bathrooms they are so outdated that people were talking about it. But other than that it's a nice place to come. And if the fields are full, good luck...
