Of all the places one must visit on Molokai, this is one of them. This area is maintained by the County of Maui so it is with plenty of parking and easy access for anyone. There are even restrooms if you need them.
The day we visited was covered with clouds but there were still peekaboo use of the Kalaupapa Peninsula. If the wind is up you can get a little cold so it's worth having a windbreaker or jacket with you. Don't forget to take lots of pictures as you're looking at the history of Hawaii right in front of you.

Read moreA short drive from the airport and well worth it. The lookout gives you a great visual perspective of how high the cliffs are (2000ft at thia point!) and how cut off Kalaupapa is from the world.
The lookout also has some nice informational signs that tell you about what happened at Kalaupapa, the history, geography and more. It is well worth your time to come see thia and the nearby Kowleonanahoa (phallic) stone. Kowleonanahoa and the lookout are in the same parking lot. The stone ia about a 5-10 minute walk through an almost Pacific Northwest forest and the lookout is a 2-3 minute walk from the parking lot. I highly recommend...
Read moreGreat views plus very clean restrooms. The walk to the lookout is paved which is great. Just take your time and you shouldn’t have a problem. The view is well worth the walk.

[PARKING] When I went on a regular afternoon on a weekday I was the only one there so I had no problem finding a parking spot. There were several handicap parking stalls.
