So, I know I left a 5-star review before, but I need to update it to 3 stars. I think this track is capable of being one of the best in the 4-state area. I truly do; however, changes need to be made. First, do not run on Saturday night. You will be competing against other tracks that are much more prestigious and competitive. Either go back to Sunday nights, or move to Friday nights. There are fewer tracks that run on Friday nights so the car count will definitely increase. Second, you need more people to take care of the physical track itself. Just spraying water on a track at intermission will not increase the grip. It just makes for west asphalt. There are some pretty significant divots in turns 1/2 and in 3/4. Drivers were moving all over the place to avoid them which caused unnecessary collisions with other cars. Fix these. Third, the amount of cars that go over the banking is way too high. As car tech increases, the cars will go faster. This makes them more likely to either kill their brakes or go over. I don't think there are that many bad drivers, but the amount that go over is dangerous. Bottom line: put in a wall around the turns. Turn the track into a bull ring to keep drivers safe. Will they hit the wall? Yes, Monett is a huge track that generates a lot of speed. However, if they go over and either hit a tree or another car on the path to the pits, serious damage can occur. Fourth, update the bleachers. They are starting to fall apart and are dangerous for the fans. Lastly, do NOT change the concession stand food. The burgers are probably the best part of the fan experience, next to the great racing on the track. Seriously, I would keep coming back solely for those burgers. I do miss the concession line where we picked the food we wanted. It seemed to make the lines go faster. I LOVE racing. I especially love supporting local businesses. I want to keep supporting this...
Read moreThey have implemented a policy for clear bags only. This is a burden to a lot of people and women in particular. What about diaper bags? What about women that need larger personal hygiene products than the tampons that fit in most pockets? Why are patrons guilty until proven innocent because they don't want to announce or abandon their personal hygiene needs? I was told this was to curb violence. How does the inability to carry a purse prevent someone else from bringing in a knife or small handgun on their person? If violence is a concern, the venue should spend time and money on trained personnel to identify potential problems and handle them appropriately instead of having the ticket booth act as security to keep purses and diaper bags out of the stadiums. I actually feel more unsafe about being here now that I know their efforts are misplaced, there is alcohol being served freely, violence is a problem and they are addressing it by keeping bags out of the stadiums. In our society and with the prevalence of violence, most people are aware of their surroundings and do not hesitate to address suspicious activity. Promote safety correctly and you will have more patrons, safer family events, a better name, and a better bottom line.
Edit to add: I have watched a young wam walk in with a bag that was not clear and a gentleman carrying a knife on his belt. Clearly the rules do not apply...

Hungry? Stop by the Pit Stop Grill. Great food and prices. Worried about missing parts of the race? No worries, they got ya covered with the race Live and in Color. Want a cold beer? Stop by the beer garden. (Sorry, on this trip I didn't get the prices) Just need a cold drink and don't want to stand in the bumper-to-bumper traffic jam at the Pit Stop? No worries, skip the mayhem with a stop at the side of the Beer Garden to get topped off with a fresh drink. Is it going to be a hot evening? They thought about you too! Just head on over to the splash zone, by yourself or with the kids, and get sprayed by the track water truck to cool you down as they pass by. They had a food truck serving Ice cream treats that can be brought into the venue and were also serving Mazzio's Pizza by the slice or a whole pie.
Haven't gone to a race there yet? Not sure what you're waiting for. Have a...
