Monroe Walgreens is the best overall retail pharmacy I've had the pleasure to shop. Who wouldn't appreciate a friendly "greeting" when entering and a "thank you for shopping" when leaving. Hands down, the best retail pharmacy amongst the surrounding towns of Trumbull, Fairfield, Shelton, Newtown, Stratford, Easton, Weston, Bridgeport and more.
The front-end cashiers are friendly, helpful and informative. On a time or two I'd forgotten to take advantage of their BOGOS. A very helpful and quick thinking cashier gave me the opportunity to get more products to save money. Who doesn't like saving money!
They're Photo Dept. is well-run with a staff who have the patience of saints. Dropping off or picking up photos (film is still a thing) is fast. Photo staff do an exceptional job handling everything from last minute Passport photos, to multiple large print projects like proms, graduations, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, etc, etc.
A nice convenience are the photo kiosks - someone is always available to aid, assist or answer questions. Custom photos in frames are done in-store. Whatever the project (large or small) processing is handled expeditiously and with care.
The Coronavirus has affected everyone, everywhere and in every way imaginable. Props to Walgreens staff who provide an extraordinary level of customer service during these difficult times.
I would say "Photo" and "Pharmacy" staff have risen above these adverse conditions to ensure each customer is provided consistent quality care and overall good experience. Yes, they get busy and sometimes you wait. And when it's your turn...you are just as important as the previous customers.
This store is conveniently located, which is a plus. Sometimes you just don't want to hit the grocery store. The Rewards Points are a bonus, too and save you money.

After waiting for my turn (there were two cars ahead of me), I was told that the prescription it received 7 days earlier was never filled! Then I was told that the prescription would be filled, but only for 30 days. When I questioned why 30 instead of 90, I was told in essence “oops, you are correct, it’s for 90 days.” Then I was told to make a u-turn and to get back in line to wait again. I then noticed that the car in front of me was the SAME one that was in front of me when I arrived at 2:30pm. In other words, they too were told to make a u-turn and to wait in line again. I finally arrived back at the window at 3:01pm. The pharmacist assistant who got the dosage wrong was Sharon. The department manager who delayed the transaction (requiring me to provide my DOB three separate time thus delaying everyone behind me in line)...
Read moreWent in to purchase photos and placed an order just over $200. The store was running a promotion for 50% off photo orders (this was offered online as well as advertised on flyers in the store). The employees were unsure of how to add in the discount so the manager Rene came over to assist and would only give us 25 percent off and kept insisting that me paying $156 equates to half off of my roughly $200 order. Half of $200 is $100. If you have a promotion advertised please honor it. I did place the order on the website for pickup where the promo code did not register properly however, this promotion was in store advertised as well and shouldn’t have been a fight to get (especially because I called customer service and they assured me the store would be able to adjust the total to reflect the discount upon payment). Probably won’t make larger photo purchases or any photo...
