Walkway to the beach was obstructed by debris and large rocks carried in by the storms, I could climb over, yet, my disabled friend had to watch from a distance. I found plastic waste on the beach as people passed by and looked at me funny for picking it up and throwing it away in a nearby trash bin. High tide would have swept them back out into the ocean where marine life would be at risk. God gave this planet to people to watch over and care for. There's more than enough resources and land for the population and double that, yet, that's not the problem. The problem is doing better. Doing our part in looking after our resources, each other, our lands, the animals, and not allowing 1% of the population to decide the fate of humanity. Who voted and put them in control of our lives?...
Read moreMy favorite beach to visit when I want to be alone or take my dogs in a quick walk. I have been going here since my childhood. There are a lot of quiet benches, nooks and crannies in between the rocks that offer some peace and quiet if you're looking go meditate or just listen to the ocean.
There is of course a connection to the bike path near by too that will lead your to East Beach and eventually the Pier as well as the Bird Refuge.
Butterfly Beach is also right in front of The Biltmore which has a beautiful bar and restaurant. Sometimes I will meet my parents for dinner at the Coral Casino too - they are members there. But the beach is lovely...
Read morePlease keep our beaches clean. If you see trash pick it up put it in the trash cans at the stairs. It's terrible to go to a beautiful spot and see trash all over the place....
This is my favorite Beach in California, of course it's my local Beach. And I would love it if they were actually good waves that came through here to Surf.
