This park used to be nice now there is a lot of disrepair and an area with ripped-out boards and long nails sticking up. It looks like the city started working on something maybe replacing those boards in the area where the ground is uneven and then just stopped and left everything halfway finished. Not cool for a playground with lots of little hands and feet everywhere. Many swings and other pieces of playground equipment are Broken ripped off in need of repair, etc. The swings that do work desperately need WD-40. I will try to go on the city website and put in a work order The restrooms were horrible there was graffiti and the cleaning freshener was so strong it brought on an asthma attack. I bring my three grandchildren here and enjoy it it is a nice place to watch the sunset and relax but it could be a lot nicer if the City Of Montgomery made more of an effort. Unfortunately it is not on the fancy new part of town which gets all the new equipment and priority services. Evidently the city montgomery does not care anymore about anything west of Perry Hill Road. That's a bad attitude for us being the capital city and them claiming they are trying to fix things up to attract tourists. That only applies to the...
Read moreThis park is beautiful. Lots of open space for people to run around in. It has tennis courts, multiple playgrounds for different age groups. It has a small theater seating area if that is your thing. It has a large walking track, a backstop if you fancy sports that require them. It has some shaded areas, but is mostly full sun. It has a covered area with picnic tables with an attached bathroom, however you should avoid the bathroom if possible. Every time a family members comes out of that thing it is described as abysmal or worse. Which isn't surprising, a lots of kids go in there and it is 70-105 degrees 80 percent of the year. Also be mindful of the ruts the grass cutting equipment leave behind. There were also some sizable limbs left over from a storm still about on the ground. Also, as with most aging parks some of the equipment and structures need maintenance or repair, and some things have simply been removed, leaving exposed metal with bolt heads sticking out of the ground. My kids are older and know better than to mess with that stuff but younger kids might need closer than normal supervision around that playground section. Overall I enjoy the park very much, I just wish they would start...
Read moreMy favorite park in the area to take the children. There is a large variety of play equipment, for everyone to be able to enjoy themselves. They even have equipment for those who have physical limitations and usually don't get to enjoy the park the same as others. I love that there's enough space for the children's to be able to spread out and enjoy themselves even now, through the pandemic. They're able to play while still following social distancing you guidelines and wearing proper PPE. They have a huge track, tennis court, open fields that you can play soccer or other sports, or fly a kite. There is a covered picnic area, with picnic tables and grill, and clean bathrooms. There is seating all throughout the park so that parents can still say within a close proximity to their children while they play. Where is just so much that I could keep going on and on about. I will say it is sometimes what may feel as over and packed on weekends, and maybe difficult to find a parking spot. But during the week, when we prefer to go, it is pretty easy to get a good parking spot and be able to have ample space to let your kids run and play and enjoy themselves. But all in all its a great park in...
