Just moved full-time into my RV and the second of two of my laptop's charging ports stopped working. The first port died last year and Best Buy said they would have to send it out for at least two weeks to diagnose and then either fix or replace the computer. I couldn't be without so I've been using the second port. This time, traveling in GA, Best Buy again couldn't do anything without a sendout but referred me to a local franchise. They could order the part and fix it, but it would take several days and I was moving on to Montgomery. Called the same franchise there and was told they could order the part and fix it--probably 5 business days for the part and another 2 for the fix. Brought it in, waited for an hour while they looked at it, and then was told they didn't have a technician on staff who could solder and it would be a sendout. Found Xi Repair and was told confidently that they had the technicians, can usually get parts in 2 or 3 days, and could fix it on site as soon as the part came in. Only one of the two port replacements was available--but ordered Thursday, came in Monday, and fixed by Monday evening. They found multiple problems with the first port and called to explain this along the way, checking to see if I wanted to invest in that expensive fix, although they advised not to. They also cautioned that the second port might not be fixable after all, but they were still looking at it and would keep me posted. An hour later, they succeeded! For now, I have one working port again, thanks to the experts at XiRepair. They also agreed to write up their diagnosis and review process, which I hope to bring back to Best Buy, maybe to avoid a lengthy sendout for yet another diagnosis before agreeing to replace the laptop on my service plan. That review will be determined later. But Five Stars for XiRepair and their reassuring, friendly, and professional...
Read moreIt was my 1st time in and I will not be back. The only reason why I went here is because my father recommended the place. I spoke with the representative Ray about my damaged phone. He didn't really let me talk, just talked over me the whole time and said a lot of things that were irrelevant to what I needed. What really got me is when I told him that my father recommended me to come here because he was a frequent customer, it went in one ear and came out the other. Ray kept trying to eye gouge me on prices. First, he said that it would be a $175 to gut my phone, plug it into the computer, and then transfer the information from the computer to my new phone, said that's labor cost. I left and came back with a better suggestion. My phone is a Samsung and has smart switch. So I talked to Ray again and explained that instead of doing the labor of gutting and transferring to the computer, he can instead gut the phone, put it inside a temporary phone and smart switch the information. Smart switch is the middle link and should be less labor. He still wanted to charge me $175, almost like he was charging me for his time and interest. I was absolutely disgusted at the lack of reasonability and willingness to assist. I went to U Break It, We Fix It in Auburn and they only charge me $49 to do the smart switch, the same exact thing Ray wanted to charge me unreasonably $175 for. Also there were no chairs in the facility. Only the...
Read moreI never leave reviews but I was compelled to do so after such a wonderful, positive experience in the dying age of good customer service. My iPhone charger cable would not go into my phone's charger port and I did a quick search for cell phone repair in the area. With there being several establishments with mostly favorable reviews, I chose XiRepair on a whim. I did not make an appointment but walked in shortly after 4:30 PM. To my surprise, there was a line, however, it moved very quickly. I described my problem to Jay and as he was entering the work order, Kia approached the desk and started immediately fixing the problem. Turns out, a piece of the charger cable was stuck in the charger port. I also explained that I felt that my speaker was broken/busted because the volume was very faint on calls. Kia explained that it probably needed cleaning. She took it to the back, cleaned it, and as she was bringing it back, and I had an incoming call. I could immediately tell the difference in volume before the caller spoke. My problems were fixed all before Jay could complete the work order! He also offered to replace my cracked screen protector and after all services, my phone was as good as new. Kia and Jay were so friendly, competent, and efficient. I highly recommend XiRepair to anyone in need of...
