Both of my boys attended this college. It is the gem of the UM system. As others have noted, the class sizes are small and the profs actually do the teaching, getting to know their students in a way that can't happen in a graduate research facility such as the main campus in the Twin Cities. Tuition is very affordable which was a bonus for this single parent. Although there is some typical college town alcohol abuse, neither of my kids came across hard drugs. NO METH!! They have some really caring professors, the counselors could use a bit of a touch up on understanding and relating to the student needs. This is definitely a college town and everything is far away.
