Mount Vernon Trail Trailhead — Attraction in Mount Vernon

The trail is more for biking than for walking since it’s pretty long. However, there are quite a bit of ups and downs, so it could be a bit more tiring than other biking trails. The view over the Potomac River from the trail is spectacular. The parking lot around Mount Vernon can be filled up pretty quickly during weekends, so visitors should plan to arrive slightly early. It was an amazing visit for me. The Mount Vernon Ladies Association has done a great job in keeping and finding all the artifacts. Like the key from the Bastille that general Lafayette gave George Washington. The history of our first president, his wife, their children, and those who visited.

Amazing trail under the tree canopy right by the Potomac River. It's curvy with lots of ups and downs. It could be very slippery on damp days. Especially the wooden bridges!
