Shops at Mount Vernon — Local services in Mount Vernon

Thanks to Susan V and the team at the Shops at Mount Vernon for helping my wife and son order replacement hats for what he lost on the way home from a school trip to DC! I heard that my son was really upset that he lost a present for me and they worked with Susan to buy some new ones.

I was so surprised to get a hat from my son with the MV logo on it.. I went to Mount Vernon High School but in NY not Virginia. Looking into the history it seems it was named as Wikepedia states:

"Mount Vernon takes its name from George Washington's Mount Vernon plantation in Virginia, much as neighboring Wakefield (in the Bronx) was named for the Virginia plantation where Washington was born."

Purchased a glass item and had it shipped from the store to my home. The package was broken when it arrived. I contacted UPS to take care of the issue since they were the sender. I was told I would have to get in touch with the sender. I have been trying to call the gift shop for a month with either no one picking up the phone. Very poor service...
