In 1981 our group of construction workers would visit this park weekly. We all worked at a new power plant in Newark, Arkansas. We worked 4 days a week and on Thursday after work loaded up and went to the park. We were a mix of iron workers and pipe fitters. The park was fantastic. Water was so clear you could see the bottom. And the water was extremely COLD!!! Once you got in it felt good. We fished with poles and set out trout lines. I brought my12' flat bottom boat with a 9.9 Mercury. You crossed your fingers every time you tried to start it. The fuzzy picture of me holding the channel catfish was taken with a good old 110 camera. Next to me is my wife and daughter. I love to bass fish, and this place has it all! I recommend buying the yearly pass for parks and boat ramps because you can use that yearly pass at all of the states Ticketed locations.
