Quite an excellent beach. We visited here twice during our 5 days in the area. First time was just checking it out while stopping at Miners Falls & Castle. We walked the length of the beach all the way to Elliot Falls.

Compared to other beaches we'd been to in the UP, the sand here is very loose and fine and, therefore, not so easy to walk in. So much so that, by the time we made it to Elliot Falls, we decided to walk back along the North Country Trail perched on the short bluff just above the beach (side note: Google Maps seems to have the location of the NCT a few hundred feet too close to the parking lot & road in this area, but you can see a pretty obvious sand trail much closer to the beach when you look at satellite view). A handful of tables also located between the parking lot and the beach, if you wish to have a picnic in the shade.

The 2nd time we visited was explicitly for the kids to play in the sand and swim (a little, because, in case you're unaware, Superior is cold, even in the summer). We had fun with that, though the black flies were a bit of a nuisance....

We love the fact that this large sandy beach is dog friendly. What a beautiful swimming area. Great spot to sea kayak and view pictured rocks Lakeshore from the water. Great hiking in the area. Lake Superior can be quite cold to swim in or even wade in most of the year, best time to go swimming is early to late August if you want to be comfortable and have a good time in it. Please be careful in the water when it's windy and watch your kids if you have them. The waves can be pretty intense here. Watch for rip currents. A person can go online and see the weather conditions and water temp daily. Beautiful sand at this beach and it's all natural. Also a great beach to comb for treasures. There is a lagoon in this area that's quite a bit warmer than Lake Superior and a good spot to wade in when...

This was a very nice beach. Very sandy and had little to no garbage; very clean. And it was so beautiful there. The only thing that was an issue was that it was super foggy that day and cold and there were warnings for Rip Currents so we couldn’t stay, but we did walk across it to Elliot Falls. I was super disappointed, but that won’t deter me from going back to get the full experience! The fog did add a nice touch to some pictures. But the beach was really nice and clean, would recommend as a stop if you’re...

One of the most beautiful beaches we have ever been to and a perfect way to spend part of a day! Not really a swimming beach as the water is quite cold most of the year, but that is part of what makes it so lovely by keeping to crowds away. The views of the Pictured Rocks are simply gorgeous and the clean, sparkling blue water of Lake Superior are stunning! Do note that their is a flight of stairs to navigate to get from the parking area to the beach but the views from the top are great as well
