Easy hike, with ranger led tours if you desire. When the weather cooperates, the views are spectacular! No pollen in the air means allergy sufferers like me can also enjoy the clean air. Highly recommend! You'll need a national parks pass when you arrive which may be purchased at the gift shop onsite. Or if you are a veteran, get a parks pass and display it on the windshield of your car. Put a photo of your pass on your cellphone as well as backup.

Access to the North Country Trail from here, though we only used it to walk to the couple of Miners Castle overlooks. There's a good amount of reading you can do at the pavilion right in front about the history and ecology of the area. Parking seems like an adequate amount, but we observed people having to make loops or park on the road outside the lot when we were there (a Sunday morning).

It's one of the best places in the park for views of the shore and rock formations below. The upper lookout has better views of the whole landscape while the lower viewpoint is right at miners castle. Extra points for having plenty of clean restrooms at this location also.

They are working on the septic field or something here, so no water or bathrooms available, but it looks like they will be back in the near future. And they look like they'd be very nice.

Parking is very nice and will also improve when the construction equipment is gone. This is still a great place to come. Both the upper and lower viewing decks at Miners Castle Point--which you can quickly reach from this trailhead-- are very nice. Very interesting sign boards about the geology and the changes in the dramatic Miners Castle Rock formations.

Definitely worth a stop if you're not going to see the Pictures Rocks...
