Oh. My. God. For perspective here, I have to say that have traveled quite a bit in my time. I lived in Sicily, Hawaii, California and Florida, to name a just few top locations. This beach is one of the most stunningly beautiful places I have ever been. I was completely awestruck by the cliffs at pictured rocks , the crystal clear water, the clean sand beach....just absolutely gorgeous. Michigan's Upper Peninsula continues to impress and I look forward to experience more in this part of the state. I truly cannot wait to return. Thank you Miner's Beach for a memory I will forever cherish.

If you want to get up close and personal with a different view of Pictured Rocks, I recommend this immensely! Not busy (mid-July), clearest water, colorful smooth stones. When we walked into the beach we walked to the right- all the way to the end! You will find such mysterious and cool wooden structures people have put together and drift wood. You also might be lucky to see Elliot Falls, the tiniest water fall I’ve ever hiked to- about 1 feet tall, dripping down a small rock, haha! Extremely cold water, so we did not swim, but I could have stayed here for days!

Picture Rocks is a beautiful area and deserved more time than we could spent, but it was a nice time. We got there in the evening, so just spent time walking the beach, which wasn't easy due to the makeup of the "sand". Growing up on the south shore of lake Michigan, I'm used to a finer grain sand at the beach. Sand at Miner's Beach was more like pea gravel and was not at firm as the sand. We also encountered biting flies, which were a bother. It was still a really pretty visit.

This beach is as good as all these reviews say. It’s stunningly beautiful and worth every bit of your time. As of September 4, 2024 the road to the beach was closed (Miner’s Castle Rd). You could still get to Miner’s Castle Point and the Upper Overlook and there was a trail to the beach from there. The trail is quite steep, and several people were having difficulty navigating it to the beach. Our more elderly folks took one look at the steep hill and noped out. If you can manage the trail, it’s worth the effort! We wanted to stay for hours. Added bonus: with the road closed the beach was quiet and hardly...

Cliff jumping!! Absolutely must do!! It’s about 15 minutes from town, worth the drive. The beach has lovely sand, if sunbathing is your thing. Our family enjoyed walking to the far left end of the beach, walk all the wall out the rock cliffs as far as possible, and there are multiple great jumping rocks there to dive into the clear cold refreshing water!! We spent an hour jumping off rocks of varying heights, even our 10 year old daughter was doing it! Make sure you pick cliffs that allow you to leap far enough out so you don’t injure yourself. What an...
