Providing wine tours throughout Napa Valley these past 12 years for thousands of visitors from around the country has enabled me to experience hundreds of the finest wineries. It also gives me a unique opportunity to visit and experience these personally, but more importantly through the eyes and feedback of my tour clients. My perspective regarding Fortunati Vineyards is a product of 10+ years of visits by many people, most of whom I get to interact with extensively during their time in wine country.
Simply put, people that I bring to this winery consistently express enthusiastic praise for the wonderful hospitality, fabulous wine, stunning property, especially from those who have prior experience touring the Napa & Sonoma, they are shocked at the value of all the Fortunati wines compared with so many others with price points that are significantly higher. Also, their tasting fees are much more reasonable than most other wineries. It's an exceptional experience with a dedicated host.
Since a client's satisfaction in my service is in large measure a result of their experience at each winery, I'm very selective of where I recommend they visit during their tour days. Consequently, Fortunati is frequently included in my itinerary recommendations, I can always count on them to deliver a...
Read moreI have mixed feeling about this wine tasting experience. The good: the wine is tasty for sure. Their red blend and Syrah are delicious. I thought I was buying them both but got to our rental and had the red blend and their Rose. I don’t care for Rose so that was a disappointment. Also good is the grounds are pretty and we were greeted by the owner, making us feel very welcome.
The not so good: our concierge tried a bit to hard. He just did not seem like a good fit for his job. Some in our group said he was condescending. He really did not make it fun even though he said many time, “we’re going to have fun”.
The last thing I want to mention is something everyone should be aware of when tasting there. It is a policy different than any of the many tasting I have had in Napa. You must buy 6 bottles of wine to get one complimentary tasting. My Niece bought 4 bottles and we had two. So I said just add out two on hers so she could get one tasting. He refused to do that. I must say though. The most shocking thing was she joined the wine club and still only got one complimentary tasting. That is all very different at most other wineries.
Overall though I doubt I would go back. Just not the Napa experience...
Read moreAs first-time visitors to Napa, we had the honor of experiencing a private wine tasting at Fortunati Vineyards—and it was absolutely unforgettable!
Our host, Liz, was amazing. She guided us through the tasting with such knowledge and enthusiasm, answering all of our questions and making us feel completely at ease. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel so welcomed.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Gary and Ellen, the wonderful owners of the vineyard. Their hospitality and warmth made us feel like part of the Fortunati family.
The vineyard itself is stunning—beautiful views, peaceful surroundings, and the most inviting atmosphere. Each wine we tasted was exceptional, and you can truly feel the passion behind every bottle.
We highly recommend Fortunati Vineyards to anyone visiting Napa. It’s a must-visit experience filled with incredible wine, genuine people, and...
