So many grills and tables spread out with beautiful views. First time coming ever was yesterday. My friend and I had grilled some food and the plan was to just eat and relax. There was this tall skinny Caucasian park patrol man, who starred at me while I ate my hotdog made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I'm 30 years old. Had a rough week, tried to come here to have some relaxation. This tall skinny Caucasian park patrol man just stood and watched me. He wouldn't take his eyes off me, so I told my friend we should go and she said yeah why is that man just standing there starting at us. He stood at the exit of the park and watched us go to my car. Fire that man! Men like that who don't make the park a better place just a uncomfortable place. I saw another Park patrol man and he looked at me and smiled. It's amazing spot but he made it extremely uncomfortable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He should be removed from the park completely. Ruined my whole day I had planned because he wants to use his job to stare people down. No smile. No hello. Just stare us down the whole time like a weirdo. There are a ton of little picnic spots with grills where you can gather with friends by the lake and/or amongst the serenity of the trees... I'd estimate, maybe 50? Each one is isolated off by itself, so plenty of space between each other.
The trees here are wonderful and the lake is calm and gentle - I didn't go in the water on this occasion, but it was nice to look at while the sun set.
About the only unknown here are the people you will encounter...
Read moreSweet area to swim, kayak, fish, picnic, grill or lounge at. There are picnic tables under a pavillion or there are picnic tables spread out throughout the park under the shade of trees. The trees grow up to the edge of the water, you can even swim in the shade if you find a spot. The little fish in the shallow water will swim up to you if you keep still long enough.
