First time down to Loop Island Wetlands today. I went walking at the Greenway in New Albany with a friend and this was a nice, short, easy nature walk with lots of things to see! Takes you right up along the Ohio river just a bit too. Blue herring, golden warblers, carp, massive snapping turtles. We had a nice and peaceful, little hike. It wasn't busy at all and a lovely addition to our walk. 4.5 stars for the fun wildlife today!
Tip: Do NOT follow the All Trails app trail for this loop; it is not the actual trail. Follow the clearly marked trail from the Greenway.

You have a wonderful views of the river, the bridges, the locks, terraced stone ledges, mini waterfalls, fossils, and more. You can literally walk out into the river! Of all the places I've hiked in the greater Louisville area this is one of...

I didn't get poison ivy and totally worth the trip don't get me wrong but I just kept thinking ugh so many kids/ people who don't know what poison ivy looks like have probably run all through this stuff, there's a ton. Easily avoided staying on the paths though would probably leave dogs at home if you react to poison ivy since they're usually not so fond of staying out of the...
