There is something for everyone at this park whether you want to go fishing or want a little picnic. There are two ponds that have bluegill, bass, catfish, crappie, and are stocked with trout every spring. during certain months on the weekends you can rent kayaks ( although they will not let you bring your own). Not far from the ponds there is a small fenced in garden specifically planted to attract butterflies and moths. If you walk up the hill from the garden you will find pavilions with picnic tables underneath them and plenty of small bar-b-q pits. Not far from that there is a small water play ground that is sure to be loads of fun for the little ones. There are two playgrounds( one for ages 5 and below and the other for ages 5 -12) just a little past the water playground. If you decide to come after dark you will get by far the best view in New Braunfels. There's plenty of birds and wild life to satisfy any bird watcher. In the summers there are plenty of classes for children to learn about archery, fishing, hiking, animals, etc. Ultimately it would take a lot to come here and be disappointed and I can't think of what more I could ask...
Read moreMy granddaughters love Fischer Park. Its a meetup spot for my kids, their kids, their friends, birthday parties and the splash pad!! The kids love the playground with its swings, slides, huge climbing ellement with ropes and bars. There's also a playground for the smaller kids so nobody gets left out. There are interactive music stations for the kids to ring bells, play a giant Xylophone and to hear sounds different notes make. Don't worry parents there are plenty of benches and shade. The splash pad is a water world of fun with sprinklers shooting from all sides and a massive water bucket that fills up, tips over and you guessed it, dumps the water out!! There's walking paths around a small lake were you see people fishing off the dock and having a good time. (Sorry no swimming allowed in the lake) The park is also animal friendly. Come by with the entire fam and enjoy. Bring lunch, play with the kids and cool off at the splash pad. There's plenty of parking, restrooms, water fountains and for sure there's...
Read moreThis is a great park for all age kids. There is a good size splash pad and two play areas. We didn't go to the play areas, but one looked like it was for bigger kids. I saw 13 year olds playing on some really cool looking play equipment. The restrooms were clean. The vending machine was broke, so bring your water with you. There are several pavilions dotting the park. Each has at least four picnic sized tables. We had one hiccup with meeting our other party.. There are two separate entrances and the roads never connect. So if you are meeting people it can be tricky. The McQueeny road entrance leads to two separate lots, one at the top of the hill and one below where there is a kayak or canoe rental. I can't remember which. The County Line rd. entrance leads to another separate lot on the other side of the park. Overall, the park was clean and fun. The people were all respectful and seemed to be having a great time....
