This is a really nice park. You can walk around the whole pond. It is a scenic trek. In the summertime, they have had paddle boats that you can use on the pond. There are ball fields, basketball courts, and a skate park here. The playground has been updated/upgraded and looks great. I do miss the old slide that was here, it was really big. For years, the city of New Britain launched fire works here on the 4th of July during a big festival (celebrating the country's independence) called The Great American Boom. I expect they will do this again in the future, although the last few years, the 4th of July fireworks have been set off from Willow Brook Park, which I like due to the convenience as it is near my house. This park is across from/next to the campus of Central Connecticut State University. There is now the beginning of a new hiking area that begins on the corner of Stanley Street and Eddy Glover Boulevard called the Stanley Quarter Loop Trail. It leads partially around the pond, into the back wooded area, across Blake Road, through more woods, alongside Holmes School, across Stanley Street, into A.W. Stanley Park, through more woods and eventually leads to Village Square Drive near Hartford Road...

I was so pleasantly surprised when I took my granddaughter to the park today. I was able to see online, before I got there, how busy/crowded it was. There was more than enough for my Addie to do. From swings, to slides, things to climb on, bridges to walk over, and even a zipline. The soft cushioning that was underfoot protected her from injury, and was a Godsend for me. City workers were diligently cleaning and maintaining the entire area. There are several places for cook-outs, with picnic tables. The pond was beautiful, and we liked the exercise areas spread out around it...and most important, the working bathrooms! With plenty of parking, including handicap spaces, we will absolutely return. Oh, and the people we met were so friendly, and masked. My ONLY complaint is that the children's play area is not fenced in or enclosed in any way. Child safety should be...

Stanley Quarter Park: A Hidden Gem for Families Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Connecticut is a delightful destination for families seeking a peaceful outdoor escape. The park's centerpiece, a large pond, provides a serene setting for leisurely strolls, and picnics. The park's playground is a highlight for young children and toddlers. With a variety of age-appropriate equipment, including slides, swings, and climbing structures, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The well-maintained playground is a safe and fun place for kids to burn off energy. Beyond the pond and playground, Stanley Quarter Park offers plenty of open space for running, playing, and enjoying the fresh air. The park is also a great spot for birdwatching and nature observation. If you're looking for a relaxing and family-friendly outing, Stanley Quarter Park is definitely...

The best place to relax, skate/scoot/bmx, and hang out with friends. Been coming here nearly daily for the passed 2 years. All the locals here are great people, some even own there own businesses and have helped to grow the skateboarding community in and around New Britain. Check out Hardware City Skateboards and Youth Youthless Skateboarding!
