I came here to do research for my new novel. It wasn’t exactly what I expected, but it was a quiet and peaceful park—which I appreciated. Operating staff was very friendly. I hope that more people will learn about this place. It’s a great story from early American History.

Its a very beautiful sight to see. The history that comes with the cave is very interesting. The overlook is awesome. You can see all of New Haven, West Haven and Hamden. Nive trails along the way also.

Fun place to hike! Endless possibilities with the trails to take! Started off at Judges cave, the rock itself is interesting, unique, and feels out of place.

I'm not sure where most people begin their ascent, but there are several trails that ultimately bring you up there. The trails themselves can use a once over with some new trail markers & signs. As far as I can tell, other then the roadway entrance to the park there isn't any signage for trailheads so if you're not a local it may be difficult to find! Otherwise it's a pretty enjoyable hike, some nice lookouts from the side of the mountain. It's a bit surreal, being on a mountain in the middle of the woods in New Haven which is a pretty big city! My kids call it Lego City because it looks so fake and small from way up high. The caves are pretty wild, you can climb inside, or up on top of the rocks. The history is quite interesting, worth researching on your own time. All in all well...

This place was really cool. We were actually there to meet people who were adopting a dog we were fostering, so we didn't have a chance to really explore. But it was dog friendly and had rocks to climb on and trails to walk on. Also, in another part of the park, there is a scenic overlook point that was beautiful! Definitely will go back when I have more...
