A very modern, fenced in playground available for children of all ages and ability levels recently built. Clean, well maintained public restroom available. The star attraction of the park, the Herman Monument, offers a beautiful overlook of the city and valley, either from the observation platform, or just from its base, as well as great historical information about Herman and the site of the monument itself. If you've never been to the top, suggest a visit sooner rather than later though as this was built long ago, and I can personally see some overzealous safety group try to close this access down, ruining the experience forever. It’s a 4 and not a 5 because it really needs some TLC and the access to the overlook platform is pretty difficult if not dangerous. The views are nice and here is a fun fact found on Wikipedia. Hermann (German for War Man) wasn’t his real name….it was Arminius. Martin Luther, another German hero who fought for freedom (of the gospel) is honored across the street with a statue and college named after him. Apparently, he was the one who gave Hermann his name. It is a beautiful monument and is accessible for $3 if you feel like climbing to the top which gives you access to stand at the foot of the king.
