Two stars instead of one out of sorrow. Place has degraded over the years, not like it was anything special years ago. Zero money put into facilities and land mgmt - I can safely say zero upgrades and minimal maintenance in the 6 years I've been. Never bothered complaining but today was sad. Owner answered another complaint about how customer service would replace unsatisfactory balls, yet that would take 90%+ of the bucket to be fair. If I go back I'm going to make them replace every ball. Website advertises open til 8pm, front desk tells you 730-745, security chases you out at 7pm which is a shame. Just go half a mile north up Flatbush Ave, marine park golf course is on the left. Driving range and balls are much better. Only 180 yard range, but Aviator isn't much more than 200. Can also play a quick 9 and if you go after 4pm you practically have the course to yourself. If you have a day or half day and not in a rush to hit some balls quick, just take the extra short trip to Long Island or S.I., Bx, Queens. Shame Aviator doesn't realize what it could attract with a little upgrade and...
Read moreThe mats are in poor condition. The balls are actually worse now and it’s not because they are just older and more worn. Somehow every time I buy a bucket I get half balls, cracked balls, worn balls — did Aviator replace the old balls with EVEN WORSE balls?!? On top of that Aviator raised the price for a large bucket to $13. NO IMPROVEMENTS have been made since Aviator took over the operation — unless you count the food truck outside the office and the new telephone and WiFi lines they are running underground. Maybe I can hit balls from the top of that food truck. In case anyone from Aviator actually reads this: you know where you can stick your food truck and WiFi! UPGRADE THE GOLF CENTER: mats, balls, putting green, chipping area, sand trap! I can only guess what Aviator has in store for the Riis Park Pitch & Putt — NOTHING!
Edit: Thanks for replying. I go to the golf center every day and this has been a consistent issue with the balls. I appreciate that you’re taking steps to renovate the place and I hope it comes...
Read moreWithout a doubt the worst driving range I have ever had the misfortune to buy and use a large bucket. For starters, there is a needless, time consuming on-line process to buy a bucket - - because the owners can't trust their staff to sell a bucket of balls to a walk in. Worse yet? The bucket of balls! These balls were filthy, so old and beaten up that most had the dimples worn off them to a smooth surfaced golf ball. And, of course, you might connect with that ball on the best drive you have ever hit in your life, say 225 yards. The problem? These decrepit balls only travel 150 yards because the surface of the balls have been worn thin. To save money, Aviation owners buy their balls from other gold driving ranges after the other ranges want to replace their balls. The Aviation owners are running a "s" hit show in every respect. They should be hung by their...
