We played the course on the opening week end and everything was far away from being ready. I am a returning customer and the experience we recently had was extremely poor. In reading this review please consider this is a $200 green fee...and the level of my expectations is high for this price tag. Starting from the arrival, at the bag drop the guys are not identified with a hat a jacket or anything similar to each other. The famous clubhouse, promised in the past is not there, the facility is still a pro shop with 2 tiny baths and a temporary restaurant. The practice facility is less than half available, the putting green is a potato field, the chipping and bunker range are closed and the driving range is mat only, they don't even let you drive off the turf, absurd. The guy at the restaurant are completely disorganized. At 11 I asked for a hot dog and they replied they don't serve them there but at the hole n 5. Clearly at hole n 5 they only had snacks and chips, and said they might have them "when is high season". Now the worse part..the course. Tee boxes are in poor conditions, the fairway probably even worse, without a sign of grass anywhere. The greens were impossible to play with holes, bounces, spots of taller grass. My friends and I were speechless. We understand we might be at the early stage of the season, but if you are not ready you should not invite your clients back...again, specially if you want to position your self as the n1 Golf Course in NY. Back to the clubhouse we tried to complaint with the manager, without any success. No refund on the full green fee paid. We took a sit for a quick beer before leaving, no sandwich after 4. Really ?? We ordered fries. They arrived after 15 minutes , COLD. The cherry on the cake. The manager walked by, he saw the scene and tried to repair by offering our 4 beers. This is everything you do not want from a course pretending to be the best. We will wait a couple of months before giving it...
Read moreGreat course; a bit stiff vibe—wish it was a relaxed vibe, but given the political climate, I can understand. Built on the shores of Ferry Point Park, Trump Links is a city-owned golf course which Trump Links holds a concession.
The course itself is challenging and exciting. The food is sub-par, and drinks are a better bet. Complimentary driving range and the drive to the range is a positive.
Big negative is the cost AND you are forced to either walk or cart (36$/person)—no push-carts allowed, which is a big disappointment since a twilight round, the cheapest, costs 154$/round.
Free parking, big whoop, doesn’t negate the fact that a public course is not as friendly and amenities available are so-so at best—given the cost to play a round.
An average golfer will find this course extremely challenging, but an average golfer would also expect great service and ambience, which it lacks.
Overall, 5-stars for the golf, 1-Star for everything that...

The track is was in really nice condition. The greens rolled very true, and were a very nice pace. The fescue was cut down to very playable levels.
Overall a very fun and visually stunning links course just a short ride from NYC. Worth visiting...
