Tucked away in the Bronx, Ferry Point Park offers a serene and impeccably maintained sanctuary amidst the vibrant cityscape of New York. During my visit, I reveled in the tranquil atmosphere and diverse recreational activities available in this picturesque haven. While the park already provides a delightful experience, there are opportunities for further enhancement to fully unlock its potential.

One of the park's standout features is its breathtaking waterfront location along the East River. With sweeping vistas of the iconic Manhattan skyline and the majestic Whitestone Bridge, Ferry Point Park serves as a captivating backdrop for visitors seeking respite. Its expansive green spaces and soothing ambiance make it an idyllic setting for leisurely strolls, picnics, and immersing oneself in the beauty of nature.

Undeniably, the crown jewel of the park is its meticulously designed golf course. Crafted by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, the course offers an impressive and challenging layout, attracting golf enthusiasts of all skill levels. Engaging in a round of golf amidst such serene surroundings is an absolute joy, promising a unique and gratifying experience for players.

While the golf course shines, other recreational amenities within the park would benefit from further development and maintenance. The picnic areas and playgrounds, while serviceable, could be enhanced with additional amenities to elevate the overall visitor experience. By augmenting these facilities, families and groups would be enticed to spend more quality time reveling in the park's offerings.

Improving accessibility to the park is another aspect that warrants attention. Presently, the lack of convenient public transportation options may deter potential visitors, particularly those without private vehicles. Expanding transportation alternatives or providing clear guidance on alternative commuting methods would significantly enhance accessibility and ensure that more individuals can easily explore the park's natural splendor.

Furthermore, the addition of on-site dining options would further enhance the overall visitor experience. While vending machines are available, incorporating a dedicated food area or café would provide a welcome respite for park-goers, allowing them to relax and rejuvenate while savoring a delectable meal amidst the park's serene ambiance.

Despite these areas for improvement, Ferry Point Park remains a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Its tranquil setting, captivating views, and the chance to indulge in a round of golf amid nature's embrace make it an alluring destination for both nature lovers and sports enthusiasts alike. Whether seeking solitude or aiming to perfect one's swing, Ferry Point Park presents an enchanting retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

In conclusion, my visit to Ferry Point Park was a serene and revitalizing experience. While the park already boasts natural beauty and an exceptional golf course, there is room for improvement in terms of recreational amenities, accessibility, and dining options. With thoughtful enhancements, Ferry Point Park has the potential to become an even more sought-after destination, beckoning visitors in search of tranquility and outdoor enjoyment in the heart of...

For the most part a really nice course, but there's about 3 or 4 holes that are tricked up with bunkers in the middle and all throughout the landing zones. It'd be one thing if it were at a particular distance giving the choice to either lay up or go for it but they're spread from 200 to 320 yards all throughout the fairway on a couple of par 4's. The staff was a whole other issue. I was scolded for parking in the far corner of the lot and was told I should park by the bag drop. I have a truck and it's difficult to get clubs in and out if cars park on either side. He told me it was the employee parking lot...there were no signs. It was raining that day with no guarantee the rain would stop. As we waited the staff kept pushing us to check in. We finally decide to give it a go as we traveled to get there and when we asked for a couple of dry towels they looked at us like we were crazy and said they didn't have any. We asked the starter and said they were being washed but would bring some out...never happened. Anyways, finished the day up and had a drink and I can honestly say there wasn't one friendly person we dealt with. Actually, two of our guys ran into Michael Breed and said he was extremely friendly. Anyways, for $240 I expected sooooo much more, and would find it really hard to...

I was there with a friend of mine about a year ago . When it first opened . There is plenty of free parking across the street from the park . It is a large park at that . The park has pick nick tables everywhere if I remember correctly . I'm not 100 % sure if they have the BBQ 's for you to cook on . Every 20 minutes there is a little transport bus for free . That will take you back and forth to the ferry if you don't want to walk it . The ferry station is Very nice . It's clean neat and very well designed. There are camera's set up . There is a large wall map . Showing you all the stops on the different ferry's with the different times they run . The cost to ride the ferry is the same as a bus or a subway . On a beautiful day there's nothing like it . To be on the water going under the bridges and seeing the New York sky line it is by fare a Great deal !!' And a Great ideal who ever came up with the ideal of this !!" There are two decks a upper and lower . There are rest rooms on the bottom decks one on each side . They are big and clean . The staff on the ferry are nice . They do sell some food and some drinks . It's a fun way to...

Attended a cookout here yesterday. There’s free parking across from the park adjacent to the highway. There are only about three trees in the lot and on hot days you’ll definitely want to park in that shade. This park is right on the water and offers a few fields for soccer, football or softball along with a couple of bike paths. There are lots of trees for shade and being by the water makes for slightly cooler temps on hot days. The grass was mowed and well kept. There is an abundance of space for gatherings and events and there was park staff on hand (rare for any park) to keep the bathrooms stocked with supplies for the crowds. Speaking of bathrooms, they are housed in a modern building with wide open stair access on one side and handicap access on the other. The wide stairs offer views to the water and any event in that area. The only downside is there are no playgrounds or basketball courts, so when bringing kids make sure you have plenty to keep them occupied.

Great park! Always been passed it on the bridge but never been. The park is large and spacious with a great view of the skyline and the water. I docked a star because of two things. 1) there's a section that's apart of the park (it's the second entrance I believe) there a path that veers off right that's junky and covered in trash which was disappointing for the amount of garbage there was there. 2) The restrooms were closed before time was around 3:20-3:25 when the sign stated it closed at 4pm. With a park that large the bathroom should of been available even if there was 30mins left. That was the main reason I didn't explore more. Other than that I would 100 % go back again! Super relaxing! 😎

I love the ride! Not overly crowded, So its always a great way to start and end your daily commute for only $2.75. Great views of NYC iconic Bridges and Skyline. It has lovely views of the city from the north. You can see both the White Stone and Throgs Neck Bridges. It's clean and organized you can make free transfers to any other ferry that goes to Queens, Brooklyn or Staten Island. On a beautiful day why not take the ferry instead of the subway. It's not always the fastest or most direct route but the views are amazing. You can use the Ferry NYC App to purchase the tickets very easy and convenient.
