Castle Hill Park is a hidden gem safely tucked away at the terminus of Castle Hill Avenue. The MTA number 22 bus will bring there and drop you right in front of a YMCA, if you come by car there is plenty of street parking available. This oasis is not very big but has a paved path to walk along on as well as benches and grass spots for you to enjoy nature. When you look out at Pugsley Creek the scenery looks like an upstate sparsely wooded meadow - great for photo taking. One end of the path shows a pleasant vista of the Whitestone Bridge. There are different species of birds as well and fowl that you may be lucky to come upon. Usually I have found this park to be a bit isolated and staying alert is recommended. There are no public restrooms in and sometimes there are areas in need of cleaning. Read moreI've been here many times and it's a pretty terrible park imo. Not much space, or a good view. It's not really maintained and is hardly a 'park' at all, just an strip of land by the shore. It's also infested with mosquitoes at night. Not one of the better parks in the Bronx. There were some small improvements made, but not enough. Like a lot of parks in this area, they need a lot more love...
