Still celebrating the holidays and met our friends at Dakota’s on the Cove! Had an amazing lunch overlooking the Hammonds Cove Marina and water views! We were greeting by the manager Raul at the door like we were family and then hada great convo with the other manager Erik! Our server Iman was very charming but let’s get to the food! We started with appetizers of the “Tomato Basil Soup”, “Watermelon and Beet Salad” and the “Fried Mozzarella” with a zesty red sauce and we were also brought “Garlic Parmesan bread sticks” to try! Our entrees was the sumptuous “Crab Cakes”, the delicious “Seared Salmon with Citrus Glacé” and the “Romano Crusted Chicken with Pasta”. I ordered the “Plum Old Fashion” that was perfect! The desserts were off the charts decadent and are made by my friend Jerome of Gino’s Pastries, Eggnog cheesecake, Cannoli Cake and Carrot cheesecake! They are a great addition to our Nabe and they have lunch specials, wine Wednesdays and brunch on the weekends!

Friendly, courteous staff. New management, owner who appears to care about maritime etiquette. has a lift, slips and a big yard in a part of the BX which reminds me of Suffolk, Long Island. Great location, savvy employees and did I mention a big yard? Update: after a winter berthed at the marina, Buster's Bronx marina in Hammond Cove, it was ideal for the sailboat, 9' dock depth. Unfortunately unable to work on boat due to the brutal winter. Compared to the several marinas I've docked in, this one's expensive. If you can afford it, remember to get a contract and whatever arrangements agreed upon in writing. Never had an issue with any marina management before however, people forget. To avoid misunderstanding, get it in writing. There's a bait shop in the yard as well as Dakotas, a restaurant with a full bar, imagine it's ideal for first dates. There are also dockyard ferals who thrive in the yard, birds chilling on the booms. They do not allow DIY bottom painting, you can supply your favorite paint for 10$/ft or use theirs for 18$/ft. After haul out for inspection, repairs and upgrades, have been delayed due to inclement weather. The yard crew is savvy, hard working and happy to accommodate. They put the boat on an ideal spot to work, paint.

The angry old bitty receptionist at this Marina has a serious attitude problem. I called this Marina several times inquiring about a boat they had for sale and a possible slip for seasonal rent. On both occasions I was dealt with extremely extremely unprofessionaly. If someone treated one of my customers as bad as she did I would've fired her on the spot. this is unacceptable then when she overheard me stating that was unacceptable she had told me that apparently they were very busy. The summer months are everyone's busiest season however that doesn't give you the right to be short and have a nasty attitude with potential customers. Go to one of the other marinas in the Bronx Westchester or even out in Connecticut where management and staff appreciate the customers. I would've rated it zero stars but Google...

Lex goring did you mention that you broke all the rule's 1. You came with gas cans there is a sign on gate and control no gas on docks 2. You were setting up traps also dock which is not allowed trip hazard 3. . You were seen cutting up fish that were not legal size and throwing in water 4. Speeding in no wake zone 5. Lying to staff about removing traps and had to be told by three different people . 6. Backing up hitting the handrails which I have photos from camera 6. Told you didn't pay for electric and you didn't have a marine grade electric cord 7. Leaving garbage and pails on dock . So tell the real story not your version of entitlement that you thought this is a ghetto which you...
