Hunts Point Landing — Attraction in New York

Not has described. No PARKING! Walked through and found people having a BBQ. Also found 2 tents were erected. Loud music. Litter bags were left by entrance of park. A large container for storage was open and a group of people were inside smoking cannabis inside the storage container. I don't know if DOP is suppose to have this closed or open. I fear that within a few months this park will be trashed by those within the community. A nice place to visit briefly and leave. NOAA could have better spent their donation elsewhere. Not in the...

This park has some amazing views of the East River, including the Whitestone Bridge in the distance. The restroom here was locked when I visited but a drinking fountain was available. It's a peaceful, beautiful park but the challenge is how to get here, which for me involved walking two miles from the Hunts Point Avenue station after getting off the 6 train. Was it worth it? This is a tiny unkept park however get back on the bike path and walk just past the Budwiser factory and turn right onto the little pathway that leads to the waterfront and it’s seating there.
