It was possibly the most amazing hockey game I have yet to witness from either of my teenaged boys in the past decade PLUS ! We knew going in Saratoga is almost equal to Shenendahowa in skill and size … basically tell our boys to hope for the best and play your usual incredible game yet seem to never come close to winning. Well I love that tonight was different. Yes I sound insane but I am fully believing in my superstitious traits and more importantly LOCATIONS. In this instance yup it is the infamous Knickerbacker park Ice Rink. For the past few Fridays we have all adored this out of the way hidden location with the super delicious restaurants and hometown pubs all less than a mile easy as heck walk distance from the rink. All the hockey parents have almost two hours to kill pre-game where we drink eat fight gossip and bond for life. At this point we (group of about 8 couples) are all devastatingly what is called SENIOR parents. Meaning our boys are at the end of this unreal insane best journey of our lives. Two weeks from tonight will be the most heartbreaking yet proud night for us all. Senior night. I will be a mess of wine, memories, pride, essentially the hands down most bittersweet evening of my life. I can honestly say I could not pick a more PERFECT location to hold such an unforgettable night. We (or should I say our boys) happen to WIN every last game played at Knickerbacker Park Ice Rink. Easily all of our go-to good luck 🍀 charm of this Senior season I could not be more grateful for this...

I dragged my son in with me and he wants to make a trip back to this park already. There are multiple softball grounds and has some historic significance which I have no clue.
I got my exercise, my son had fun and that is all that matters. There were other kids there playing football, on scooter, bike, mini motorcycles, softball and some play equipment which...
Read moreI saw Knickerbocker Park on my map and since I needed somewhere to relax I walked 12 blocks to visit what I HOPED was a nice park. When I arrived all there was is a baseball diamond attached to a school, and a playground designed for the UNDER 5 group. The few toys on the playground were extremely run down. There was what at one time might have been a pretty fountain, but it was full of weeds and no water. There were 2 pretty run down picnic tables. The grass was in dire need of a lawnmower and the entire park...
