We come to Paerdegat Park occasionally. It seems safe and kids are always here when the place is warm. It has a reasonable amount of trees which provides shade to most of the park and for benches in the park. I didn't know that there was a fountain here and the kids would run through it to play .
It has a tennis court, baseball field, basketball court and two play areas for the children with slides and different obstacle courses attached to them. The park also has bathroom facilities for kids. I have never used the batbroom, so I can't speak to the condition of it.
As for the community homes that appear to be middle class surrounds the entire parks and is always peaceful apart from the laughter and playful noise of the kids and basketball players.

Which is why when I pass by I don't go in, day or night. It's not well lit at all at night.
I think I've only been in there once maybe twice in my life and I pass by this park a lot to get to my Aunt's house. It says a lot that I don't pass through it but around it to get there.
But...
