Very interesting spot near City Island. You’ll need to google Rat Island and check out its Wikipedia page for more detail. We happened upon this island when we were exploring the City Island area. If you go there, you’ll need to navigate very carefully as there are many rocks and it is mostly in un marked waters as far as channel markers go. You’ll need detailed maps of the area and a depth finder, etc. I would not drive by unless you are an expert at using multiple navigation tools. The danger of hitting rocks is great to an untrained sailor. There were people fishing near it, so it’s definitely a local knowledge type of spot. Again, read the Wikipedia page for more information.

If you like off-the-beaten-path adventures as a tourist, be sure to check out Rat Island. The name is a misnomer as there is not one single rat on the island. If you are a hiker, definitely hike up to Brennan point to get a picture of yourself and the kids in front of the famous William Tell statue. It helps to speak Swiss German while on the island but you'll be fine either way.

It wasn't long before the rats started coming towards me, thought I was gonna die but then they started licking me. Good boys! Totally worth the diseases it caused! 😍 my one complaint though is that 100,000 rats isnt enough, maybe add more rats? 🤔
