City Island Nautical Museum — Attraction in New York

I am planning a visit with my Non-Verbal grandson who has autism. I want to experience the trip for myself & see my grandson's reaction before reading rhe reviews because I believe that everyone's experience & reaction depends on the subject matter and your interest in nautical life. I enjoy saving, riding the ferries and excursion that involve water activity such as the Ferry Turs that other Boroughs have to offer. I will keep Google updated...

The museum is a treasure of nautical history and of City Island's place in that history. SO many neat stories; the two docents working at the time are long term residents and know a lot of the history. Lots of ship models as well as many artifacts from sailmakers, rigging, a nice compass collection, navigation, tools, engines, communications, scuba, art and photography.
