Stayed here in May and were overwhelmed by how beautiful the property was. Once we stayed into our second night and took a shower and figured out what was broken in the room it became quite a nightmare! The tub was not a jetted tub, but was formally a jetted tub that now it’s being billed as a soaking tub because the Jets were broken and no one knows what sort of danger you were in in the tub! We weren’t giving any instructions about how to work the lights and there were a dozen or more controls. We weren’t given any advice about how to work climate control. We were not given any advice about how to work the formally jetted tub,That’s now a soaking tub for obvious reasons because it didn’t work! We complained to the front desk and they were dismissive, arrogant and despicable! They offered to change our room after having already unpacked, and we are also not even guaranteed another room in another junior suite that would possibly have a soaking tub or Jetted tub! So given how much was broken in our room, why in the world would we expect that it would be any different in ANY Other Room ! They offered us a grand Total of $40 or a one day resort credit on a four night stay at $800 a night. Yes $800 a night! No one even offered to come up to our room to see what was wrong because they probably knew ,likely knew That it was broken and many things were broken I would never stay here again. I recommend that you don’t and hopefully either they go out of business or they fix their show. There is renovation going on now, and people are being told that they still need to pay the rack rate even though the amenities have all disappeared ! It would be nice if they could fix their act and compensate me adequately and anyone else who was ripped off because of unkept promises and false advertising, It would also be nice to see the people that are employed there for the most part to maintain their jobs, but I wouldn’t take a chance! Never going back...
Read moreFIRST, MANY OF THE PICTURES ON THIS WEBSITE GO BACK TO WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS A BABY. SHE IS NOW 16. THEY REALLY SHOULD UPDATE THEIR WEBSITE. FOR MANY YEARS I HAD BOTH A CABANA & LOCKER HERE. WHEN MY SON WAS BORN UNTIL MY KIDS WERE LIKE 10-12, WE REALLY ENJOYED THE CLUB. THEY HAD MANY ACTIVITIES FOR THE KIDS, TALENT SHOWS & THEY WOULD HAVE CHARACTERS LIKE ELMO COME ON OCCASION. THEY HAD GREAT ENTERTAINMENT & FUN THEME NIGHTS. THE CLUB WAS A SECRET FAMILY VACATION HIDEAWAY. THE LAST TIME I HAD A LOCKER THERE WAS THE SUMMER RIGHT BEFORE HURRICANE SANDY. I WAS NOT HAPPY THAT YEAR. I FELT SOME OF THE FAMILY ORIENTED ACTIVITIES WERE SLIPPING AWAY. THE ENTERTAINMENT WAS NOT SO GREAT. I ALSO FELT THERE WAS SOME FAVORITISM GOING ON THERE SOME PEOPLE WOULD HAVE A WHOLE SECTION OF THE BEACH WITH CHAIRS & UMBRELLA'S SET UP PRIOR TO OUR ARRIVAL BASED ON ARRANGEMENTS THESE PEOPLE HAD WITH CLUB EMPLOYEES. I FELT THAT WAS NOT FAIR. AT THE TIME A LOT OF YOUNG KIDS WERE COMING IN TO THE CLUB SO THE DRINKING HAD GONE FROM FAMILY FUN NIGHT TO COLLEGE FRAT PARTIES. I HAD HEARD SANDY DESTROYED THE CLUB & THEY REBUILD BUT I DECIDED NOT TO RETURN AND JOIN SILVERGULL INSTEAD. I HAVE BEEN AT SILVER-GULL FOR A FEW YEARS NOW & I AM HAPPY. I HAVE MY OWN SHOWER IN MY CABANA & ELECTRICITY. I AM NOT GOING TO SAY IT IS MUCH BETTER THAN SEAGATE BUT RATHER IT IS DIFFERENT. I DO MISS THE SERVICE SEAGATE PROVIDED WITH SETTING UP CHAIRS, WAITER/WAITRESS SERVICE ON THE BEACH. THE RESTAURANT HAD GOOD FOOD & SNACKS FOR THE KIDS WHERE AS SILVER GULL RESTAURANT STINKS. SILVERGULL DEFINITELY HAS TO OFFER. FOR INSTANCE IF YOU HAVE SMALL KIDS, THEY HAVE A FREE CAMP WHICH I WOULD HAVE DREAMED OF WHEN MY KIDS WERE SMALL. THE KIDS AT CAMP WHY THE PARENTS RELAX. I DO NOT KNOW HOW SEAGATE IS TODAY. I DID LOVE & ENJOY IT FOR MANY YEARS BUT THINGS CHANGE SO...
Read moreDefinitely the best kept secret in Brooklyn! My husband, Ralph and I stumbled upon the Seagate Country Club quite by accident and decided to purchase a membership immediately following our initial visit/tour of the beachfront property. We both agree that this summer has been one of our most memorable ever. We've spent every free weekend just relaxing by the pool and taking in an early morning stroll on the beach. The facilities are well maintained to the highest standards, and the veteran members were all quite welcoming. We are looking forward to our return to the Club next year. Bravo to Cousin Sal, Nicole, and the entire staff at the SGBC. Sandra...
