Pleasant escape from the city. Park near Calvert Vaux Park, or along Bayview Avenue and head down towd rthe beach. You will fell like you traveled 40 miles away but still have a beautiful view of the Verrazzano Bridge. In the summer, some people picnic and swim here, but that would be best at incoming tide.

Giving it 3 stars only because it's across the street and makes it easy to play with my dog. Also allows me to enjoy a beautiful sunset. But it's always full of garbage. Sometimes I can't let my dog off the leash, because I am scared he will eat something and get sick.

Whoever gives this place 5 stars must be insane, blind or both.

This is a great beach. Really nice fine sand, quiet with small waves perfect for kids and closer to the city if you drive.

But the entire beach is covered with trash! So sad for a beach with such great potential. There are absolutely no trash cans and of course lazy and selfish people will just leave their trash.

I recommend it once check it out, especially if You like seeing things like decaying ship wrecks and maybe a Dead Sea bird or a cat all bloated along the shore . And yet you will also See folks enjoying this beach recreationally big time who do Not give two $&@?! about that stuff. Definitely...
