Upon arrival at the gorgeous and modern tasting room at Winderlea, Staci gave our party an incredible welcome and glass of their estates rosé. The building's design is impressive and walking out on to the porch makes you feel like you're floating into the vineyard.
Staci seated us at a beautifully set table as she took the time to teach us about each wine. Staci is fun, friendly and has a great sense of humor. Learning about the estate, the rich history of vines, the soils the grapevines are grown in and how the climate in each year's vintage affected the skins and flavor profile of the grapes was really fun and interesting. I appreciate that Winderlea makes their tastings an educational experience without ego.
Eric is a wealth of knowledge, his kindness and fun personality is perfectly suited to give you and your party an unforgettable experience. Scott also spoke with us about the wine industry and how Winderlea's wines are unique with vines from the 70s!
Their wines are unique in that each one was different, none of them were sweet, and each one was truly enjoyable. The Winderlea Pinot Noirs have a lovely variety of flavor profiles, some of the ones with more spice and herbaceous finish were surprisingly delicious.
I was incredibly surprised that one of my favorite wines we tried was the Pinot Blanc that Eric brought out. I'm not usually a white wine drinker, but this Pinot Blanc is not to be missed!
I absolutely loved our experience here and am happy I brought bottles home to share with family. It's not hard to find a winery in the Dundee Hills, Winderlea does their tastings better than any other place I've had the pleasure of visiting. Staci & Eric truly made this place stand out with their impressive hospitality - we will definitely be frequent visitors. I highly recommend Winderlea as a top destination in Oregon's...
Read moreI heard a lot of good things for this winery and was really looking forward to coming. When we first entered the door the person greeting us seemed annoyed that we were there. She immediately asked us for our vaccine card. I don’t want to make this about whether you should or should not be vaccinated but it was apparent it was very important for this winery. It took me aback that this small place asked me for my card since no other place of business (winery or restaurant) has ever asked me for my card. As I was messaging another friend that they needed a card this same person asked me if that’s what I was doing. It took all of me to tell her it was none of her business.
We get to the wine tasting part and we have a different person handing that. He was very personable and made the experience much better. The wine is good but if you buy a bottle the tasting fee ($25) is not waived. Just an FYI. I did end up buying their sparkling because it was delicious.
As a side note, there is a sign in the bathroom that tells you how to wash your hands, to use the towel to open the door and where to put the towel. It made me feel like a...
Read moreWe had a private wine tasting at this winery this weekend and enjoyed our first visit to this place very much. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and were offered as a first tasting a 2020 Winderlea Rose of Pinot Noir which was quite enjoyable. Then we were ushered onto the balcony where our friendly host DeAnna explained the history of the winery, it's patrons and different kind of details about the wine making process as well as the region itself. Once we returned inside we were seated at a table and tasted several different wines. 2017 Winderlea Chardonnay which to me tasted of Vanilla and Lemon 2017 Weber Vinyard Pinot Noir. [should stay in the bottle for some time] 2017 Shea Vinyard Pinot Noir [which clearly was my favorite] as well as the 2017 Winderlea Vineyard Pinot Noir which was very well balanced.
Prices range from about $30 to $65 per bottle. Discounts available for Wine Club Members. I can recommend this winery and will definitely come back when in this...
