Cliff Walk – The Breakers — Attraction in Newport

Easy trail along the shore but long! Rewarded with beautiful views of the ocean on one side and the mansions on the other side! Can be quite rocky in places, so definitely one for sturdy shoes, and there’s a section beyond which you can’t go with baby strollers. Other than that, very good workout, easy to moderate depending on fitness level. Free parking at the Breakers, it was empty on a weekday morning around 8am but had filled out by noon. There are more parking spots around the same area though if you determine where you want to begin the walk. Fantastic walk on a beautiful day! Make sure you wearing comfortable sneakers and maybe bring a jacket for the ocean wind. It get pretty rocky and the terrain is a little dangerous at certain points especially if you’re not expecting it. Definitely recommend it for the view and the nice little workout! Note that it IS about a 3.5 mile hike one way and I really didn’t see many opportunities to get onto the main road in between.

Oh my! This is just perfect! Lovely! Soooo beautiful! The wind and the waves. Standing at the very edge of Rhode Island. However, can't walk thru the lawn of Breakers into Cliff Walk. The communicating gate is lock. Can see but can't reach. Need to exit Breakers via the front gate, turn left, walk till a T junction then turn another left and straight. Will reach in less than 5 min. Will walk pass Breaker on ur left & another gorgeous mansion on ur right and you will...
