Read moreThis review is not on the mansion, it is about getting into the mansion. My husband and I needed to get a ticket to enter so got in line. There was a group of five ahead of us (from out of town), trying to figure out the most economical way to pay for a ticket. The cashier was very patient and worked with them through the myriad of options - which are many. The group talking amongst themselves and all the explaining took about 15 mins. They decided to buy a couple of memberships. Meanwhile, the entry line is growing longer and longer. Ok, now the cashier has to sign them up for two memberships (name, address, etc) and process the payments. We are now at a 20 minute wait to get in - it is 1:30, the house closes at 3:00. We asked the gentleman who was scanning entry if we could pay upon leaving, he said yes (line is now at the door). When we were leaving the line to get a ticket was even longer. He told us it was a busy day and he apologized, told us to forget about buying our tickets. Don’t get me wrong the staff was very nice and doing the best they could. My suggestion to the preservation society: have another person present who can talk to large parties about the most economical way to buy a ticket (which will of course be a membership) and have that person also process the membership. To wait in line, at that point, 20 minutes to buy two tickets and we weren’t even near the end of that wait…is not what you want guests to do. Please Preservation Society improve this system. It...
