Wow, walked in with my wife this past Saturday while on vacation at pigeon forge, we love Tennessee and the people in the small towns and vacation fun for my wife is hitting yard sales and flea markets and thrift stores etc. Long story short I was pissing and moaning about having to go into yet another little thrift store, although I have to say this was definitely the most charming by far that I've ever been dragged into, that being said a wonderfully sweet young lady came down and greated us said they wasn't open yet but to go ahead and make ourselves at home and look around, told us to check out the room in the back, folks I walked into a room of treasures that only a few people would probably truely understand, shortly after that as I walked around wishing that I had a couple grand in my pokets another lovely young lady came in and focused on my every question while also helping my wife and little girl, I suddenly realized that I was in a shop that belonged to one of my television heroes and without hesitation the wonderful young lady offered to see if he could come down, although I couldn't think of anything better than meeting someone that I've looked up to for several years now, and I'm not easily impressed, I reluctantly said no I wouldn't want to be a bother, but she insisted that he loved to meet fans, and trust me she didn't have to twist my arm to much, and in a blinding matter of seconds I found myself posing next to one of america's finest icons, I've guided quail hunts on high end plantations all my life and have met dozens of celebrities and have never asked for a pic with any of them, that being said I found myself welling up inside like a little kid and damned if I didn't do one of the stupidest poses you've ever seen, so embarrassing when I look at it but to hell with it I still have a photo that I'll cherish for the rest of my life. So guys if you find yourself in a little town in Tennessee and your wife is dragging u from thrift store to thrift store, don't complain you never know what you may find yourself getting into. We bought plenty not that we wasn't anyway but at that point my wife could have emptied our account right there at the fruit jar and I still would have left grinning from ear to ear, so stop in and visit, you want be upset and the people are so amazingly friendly and helpful, we could have spent the whole day there, the whole town of newport was so very charming, I highly recommend visiting if you like small country towns with tons of character and friendly people and be sure to stop in at...
Read moreHorrible customer service experience today... My mom lives in the area, and she has been a good customer since this little store opened. She has purchased many things over the years, both as gifts and for herself. Some things, of course, have needed to be exchanged within a reasonable time limit for various reasons. In this case, she purchased a blouse, earrings, and a bracelet for me as a birthday present. Unfortunately, the items weren't really my style, so we decided to exchange them. Now, in all fairness, neither of us read the bottom of the receipt to note the ludicrously short exchange window (10 days). It has been 13 days, the blouse and jewelry are still on their racks (not sale items), and everything still had tags attached. Apart from the policy being a bit ridiculous, the "lady" working in the store today handled the situation poorly. All she did was parrot "the policy is printed on the bottom of the ticket" multiple times, and, when my mom became aggravated with the lack of response (not yelling or abusive in any way), she said to the other employee "I'm walking away from this," turned her back on my mom and walked away. That is simply not how things should be done in any retail store, especially in a small town. The situation could have easily been diffused by an experienced/adequately trained associate, even without taking the items back/making any exceptions to the return policy. She never apologized for any misunderstanding. She never offered to contact the manager or owner of the store. Maybe she thought arguing with a customer was an appropriate tactic... ?? Who knows. In any case, neither my mom, nor I, will ever set foot in this store again. I suppose I should be impressed that they're doing well enough as a business to...
Read moreOMG. What a hidden gem in downtown Newport. Loved everything about it!! Your store just feels so good when you walk in the door! Bonus they were having a clothing clearance sale! I travel many places, am a professional buyer. This place is high on the list of memorable stores. I loved the displays. Someone has a great eye! The vintage, spinning, dry cleaners clothing rack was a giggle and a laugh! Great score on that one. If I were into brewing and knew anything about it I would have been in heaven! Bravo! Well done! Looking forward to seeing your Fall line of clothing. Sales lady said you really do it up for Christmas. I look forward to...
