They make it hard to put a boat in the water and go south from Tyler (two kayaks). But I figured out how: from the Fisherman's parking lot (park here), follow the trail that loops around under the 332 bridge (toward Spring Garden Mill--do not park there). Once under the bridge, you will see where to launch. You can go 3 to 4 miles downstream to Playwiki Park. In May, the water flow was decent but my larger kayak got stuck about 6 times, but the kids kayak just got stuck 2 times (at least a dozen fun little rapids along the way--nothing major).
