HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR MY SIX YEAR OLD. My son was invited to a classmates 7th birthday party. I filled out the waiver and left my son to enjoy the party with his friends. When I came back to pick him up he was crying. Come to find out that right after I left he went on the trampoline with his friends but the monitor told him he was too young to play there. He explained that he was at his friends birthday party and they told him yes but your friend is 7 and you are only 6. The other six year old that was with the group has a birthday in 3 weeks so he got to stay but since my son's birthday is five months away he had to leave. So they made him leave by himself - they didn't ask what party he was with or was there an adult they could talk to. They just pointed him in the direction of where he should be playing and told him to go play there (by himself). What 6 year old goes to a birthday party to play by themselves. Why would a facility that offers kids birthday parties allow this type of exclusion? When I called to speak to the general manager Mike he explained the age limit is a Niles ordinance. I asked if it is also a Niles ordinance not to inform the parents that their kid isn't old enough to play with the birthday boy at their facility? He said they make it very clear on their website and signs throughout the facility. I told him I didn't study his website before taking my kid there but since I interacted with their staff waiting in that ridiculous line up why didn't they tell me when they had a chance. He replied we do our best but sometimes we miss it. When the monitor asked my 6 year old to leave why didn't the monitor reach out to the party parent to make sure my son was not being left alone. Mike told me the monitor can't leave her post. They can't leave their post but a 6 year old who is crying can be left to play by themselves. Mike told me that he has many repeat 6 year old customers who come there to play by themselves. Really??? Since they don't ask for us to verify the child's age I could have put any age I wanted - mike's response to that was yes that is the parents responsibility if that is what they want to do. Their priority is to cover themselves legally not to provide a safe environment. Basically this place does not care about a 6 year old crying and being excluded from his friends. They hide behind a Niles ordinance and do not take any responsibility for how they conduct their business. Mike told me that the parents hosting the party were verbally informed that this was going to be the case and that his younger classmates were going to be excluded from some of the play areas - but the parents chose to have the party there anyway. I actually find this hard to believe but will update the post if that is in fact accurate. My son went to a birthday party for his friend and never got to spend time with him. sky high will blame it on a Niles ordinance rather than poor management. Had I known my son would have to play on his own I would have stayed with him. They have teenagers that lack common sense managing their business. You have lost my business - not a good demographic for you to lose. I will advise anyone that wants to listen that if you want to spend your hard earned money on a kids birthday party - go somewhere where children are valued and treated with respect and children are guaranteed a good time - sky high is...
Read moreNever again! We came here in hopes of a family friendly good time; which ended as a nightmare! The place smells like feet and mold; but that’s expected as a trampoline park for little kids that’s been one almost 20 years with no remodeling! There were three attractions: dodgeball, basketball, and a rope dive. There was also a large trampoline. Not bad for the price. The bathroom was filthy, but they did their rounds after I left so perhaps it was just due for a cleaning. There were a few parties at the time so a decent crowd. Here’s where it gets tricky. At closing time we went to use the restroom, get some water, put our shoes on and leave. Only to find my daughters Nike’s were stolen! There are cameras at the establishment for safety; so I ask the owner to review them. At which point she informed me they aren’t working; just there for a false sense of“security”. Unsure of how to get my barefoot child home on a bus at night we just sat there. I asked if the owner could refund us or atleast give us credit toward next time. Really I just needed money to get us a cab as my baby was barefoot! She refused to refund us and asked us to wait outside because they were closed. I begged her to let us wait inside as it was cooler that night and again… my child was barefoot!!!! I had to get Niles police department involved; the officer offered us some booties and a ride. Which was more than the owner ever did. She didn’t even offer us an extra pair of no grip socks to put over her socks NOTHING!!!! Just ready to put us out. She calmly explain the establishment is not responsible for lost or stolen ANYTHING! ALl I could think is THANK GOD I LEFT WITH MY KID. This place is not safe, not professional, doesn’t care about your family, and is just here to nickel and dime you for every smelly attraction. The climbing walls, and bouncy castles are sold separately :) although they’re in the same establishment. Be careful though… again they are NOT responsible for ANYTHING that happens to you or your kids. If the show theft was treated like that I can only imagine what resources they’d have if your kid fell off a wall or trampoline, or worse …. Got abducted. Keep your kids close while here is all I can say. Those security cameras don’t work; and they assume ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS...
Read moreI went to Sky High wth my 7 year old cousin yesterday, and on the way I read reviews of the place and found many reviews about how bad the staff was. I didn’t think it was that bad. I went inside paid 3$ for some sock for “safety reasons” and went inside the court to jump, first I went to the Toxic Waste jumping machine. And when my 7 YEAR OLD cousin got on the machine monitor wasn’t paying attention to the speed of to machine it was going crazy fast but the TEENAGER controlling the machine covered her eyes with her hands and hid her face. But to make matters worse there where some older kids playing rough pushing and running to make the machine go faster, as my SEVEN YEAR OLD COUSIN was getting dragged by the machine! I stood there in shock glaring at the lady, watching a little girl around my cousins age get trampled by a boy twice the size as her! The woman controlling the machine was giving people dirty looks, you would think they would be trained to make sure that your experience is amazing as they make it sound! The TEENAGER that was controlling the machine didn’t pay attention to the people in the Toxic Waste till someone called them out! After she kicked the boys off we went to the foam pit where there we saw the same boys doing flips in the foam pit when it says you may not do flips into the foam pit this may not be a big deal but your staff did not say anything about it. This proves that you didn’t train YOUR staff well! Getting a bad review by an 11 year old great job! Either continue to get bad reviews or fix your staff issues! Your choice. Also, don’t even bother sending me your response! Just read this and decide of your going to either continue to get bad reviews or fix your staff...
