Yesterday, when we were on Morse, we got caught in a really bad storm that popped up out of no where! My husband had already gotten off the boat to go get our truck to trailer the boat to get off the water before the rain came. I was waiting with our 3 small children (ages 1, 3, and 5) out in the wake zone for him to get to the boat ramp. While we waited, the storm came! I did everything I could, but the wind and water were too strong. I fell into a full on panic attack. I was scared for my children's lives out there all alone with them! The engine must have turned off/died on my boat and I didn't know/couldn't hear anything because I was trying everything I could to try and keep my boat back, but the wind and tide took my boat from the boat ramp wake zone marker all the way up to the Marina gas station and almost into the covered boat docks full of boats! When I was only feet away from the Marina gas dock, a young man that worked for the Marina saw how distraught I was and helped me out tremendously! He yelled out to me to just let the tide take my boat to him so I did. He stopped it from crashing into the dock and held on to it with all his might while a young female Marina worker ran over and helped me get the kids off of the boat. She helped me get all 3 kids into the little Marina gas hut and then she ran a rope out to the male who was holding my boat for dear life! I followed behind her to help with the boat since the kids were safe. He needed a longer rope so I got him one off of our boat for him. He told me he had it so that I could get back to the kids. We took cover in the hut and he came in a few minutes later and squeezed his way in to find us in the back, despite there being about 30 people crammed in there, to check on us and gave the kids popsicles to calm them down. He went above and beyond for us and we are so very grateful and appreciative of him! I wish I would have gotten his name. I was an absolute mess and I just want to thank him and the female for their selfless...
Read moreIt’s unfortunate to write this because we had high hopes, but it is what it is. We rented a boat on the 4th of July and we’re told we have the newest boat they own. Perfect….until we took it out. Boat number 3 had engine issues. I’m not a mechanic, but, I know their pontoons are supposed to go at least 10 mph. We even raced a kayaker and lost. Not kidding. The RPM’s would run high but we wouldn’t go any faster than 7-8mph. So, therefore we had to deal with large wake from other boats because we were basically idle the whole time.
We then were stuck due to the engine not starting. After about 10 min of fiddling with everything trying to figure out the issue, we got lucky and the engine started so we could return in a timely manner. Once returned, we reported the issue and their own employee admitted that something was wrong. We were told to call the next day to figure out if there could be some sort of compensation due to not being able to use the boat like we wanted to. Once I called I was told they couldn’t do anything because the boat went above 10 mph when they “tested it out”. Absolutely unacceptable. The manager told me that since we “didn’t bring the boat back to replace with another one, there’s nothing we can do”. The reason why is because before we left one of the employees said they booked all of their boats. Stating that it was going to be a very busy day.
All in all we were a little dissatisfied with the boat, but more importantly the lack of customer service. We made sure to return the boat in better shape than when we received it (mind you we found bottle caps in the cup holders and mud on the seats). I hope the next customers has a better experience. Happy...
Read moreThe marina is nice enough and it has a good location being in the parking lot of Wolfie's. My one star review is based on my experience with the staff of the marina. The boat I was on was having mechanical issues and we limped back to the dock at 3 mph. This didn't give us great options because we needed to get the boat docked ASAP to get it trailered and out of the water. The owner docked the boat to jump out and get the truck/trailer. I guess we were in a no parking zone and the staff sure let us know. The staff tried to force one of us non-owners to move the boat which we refused due to we had been drinking and it wasn't our boat. Words were exchanged and the whole experience seemed ridiculous. We were trying to explain that the boat was having problems and we were nervous about evening the possibility of getting the boat on the trailer. They were literally harassing us the whole time while we were docked no more than 5 min waiting for the truck/trailer. Having an expensive.voat having problems is already stressful enough but not even being able to get a few minutes of understanding just makes the whole...
