Not moderate for beginners. It is HARD for beginners. Completely uphill the entire time with so many switchbacks. It's not super steep at any point, but just tiring if you are not accustomed to hiking with an incline. There are a lot of logs to sit and take a break along the way. The trail has a lot of big rocks you can trip on. Running downhill is dangerous because of the trip hazards.
The views at the top are definitely beautiful. However, the ledge/top is basically a huge boulder - it's not flat. There is a large hole you can fall into right in the middle. Or you can go down a small, steep trail closer to the edge - VERY dangerous and exercise extreme caution as it is sloped downhill till the edge of the cliff. There are no guard rails at all. If you slip, you will absolutely fall off the cliff. The water will not save you. People have died here. Please be careful.
There is a bathroom near the lake and another right before the hike. You have 2 options with either one: -Restroom with toilet that is just a hole in the ground (diabolical level of filth, stench, and about 10 flies buzzing in the toilet) -Port a potty (no sink, hand sanitizer only - was genrally cleaner and smelled better if you...
