Pink Beds Picnic Area — Attraction in North Carolina

We stopped by to hike the loop trail which for about half its length passes close by water. Lots of areas where the bird song is loud and we were able to identify many different types. There was one stream crossing bridge washed out but with the low water managed to cross without any wet feet. Only saw two other groups of 2 while we were walking. Trail is very easy and also quite pretty for a lowlands trail.

After the loop trail, took advantage of the picnic area. Only one other table being used in the approx 10-acre picnic area so...

Great place for families to picnic. There are covered shelters but you have to get there early in the morning to get one. "The early bird gets the worm" so to speak..... At and elevation of almost 3300 feet, it's a good place to escape the heat in the valleys below. Has a trash dumpster and restroom facilities....

Nice, big open field with lots of picnic tables and grills. Some tables are in the shade others are in full sun. Plenty of space separates the picnic sites. Two covered shelter areas and restroom facilities. Connected to an easy hiking trail that meanders through the wetland...
