Went Saturday April 8th! Wonderful experience! They immediately saw that I was in a wheelchair and one of the Monks pushed me to the back of the building and up the ramp to enter then we took the elevator to meet back up with my friend! Loved the gift shop! Wish I had more money because I would have purchased one of each of their soaps because they all smelled heavenly!! Bought several other unique items then went to taste wine! I was the driver so I had to limit myself to only 3 tasters and the sparkling peach was wonderful! After wine tasting we went into the bread and if I had a big freezer I would have purchased several of each! They were out of one and had made 250 loaves! They also had jelly! It was just a wonderful experience and I'll...

When I was younger, with little cash, I passed through Richardton. I recall hearing somewhere that the Benedictines highly respected sanctuary, and so I sought it with Brother Victor. He and several of the other monks kindly hosted me overnight, and provided breakfast the following day. I recall Brother Placid as well, as much a farmer as a monk. They impressed upon me the Russian and German heritage that extended across the prairie so long ago. Glad to see...

Truly, you can "find" God anywhere, but here, amidst the happy, welcoming Benedictine monks, the physical presence of God exudes from every pore.

For those who have not yet visited, you can stay for an hour, a day, or by contacting the Guest Master ahead of time, overnight. A wonderful place for a retreat. Guests, male or female, are allowed, even encouraged, to participate in prayer with the monks, and it is the most soul-fulfilling prayer you'll...

"The most bountiful God, who is almighty, the plan of whose providence rests upon wisdom and love, tempers, in the secret purpose of his own mind, the sorrows of peoples and of individual men by means of joys that he interposes in their lives from time to time, in such a way that, under different conditions and in different ways, all things may work together unto good for those who love him." -Munificentissimus Deus, Pope Pius XII

Magnificent and majestic on the Prairie. We talked with a monk who was friendly and interesting. Currently 30 monks rwside there, down from 80 at the peak. Stunning beautiful church and campus. And if you stop. Go look North behind the buildings. Stunningly open and beautiful. Helps understand why they built in that location.
