I received horrible customer service from a bartender at first Saturday at Voodoo Lounge. The bartender named Erin skipped over me several times at the bar. I was patiently waiting to order a drink and all I wanted was water. She took people that walked up to the bar after I had waited several minutes. After her taking 5 orders that came after me, I finally spoke up to let her know that I would like to order. I said, excuse me am I next to order? She said, I’m taking them in MY order. Although she already knew this, I explained that I had been in line patiently waiting and her order was unfair because I was there first. She said well that is my order and you’re just gonna have to wait and if you don’t like it you can just go to another bar! I then asked for a manager. She rudely said, I’m not getting him, you’re gonna have to go look for him yourself. She didn’t want to provide me his name and continued to take other orders. I finally got her name and the managers name from another waitress. I have never been treated so rudely when attending an event there and I am absolutely not ever going back. I was appalled and embarrassed to be treated with blatant rudeness...
Read moreTheoretically, a great setup. Perfect area for killing and listening to music while also offering a concert floor. There weren't a lot of tables though so that kind of worked against the whole idea of a lounge and a concert for put together. Basically, they want everyone to get drinks at the bar and then sit down or stand around the table and enjoy the show. I counted 130 people Max there that night, and that was during the tender liner, Ashten Ray's, performance, and way before he got up all the tables were full. Also I heard a guy ask for a tank 7 but they didn't carry any IPAs. I am not an alcohol guy but it seems kind of basic even to me that you should provide an IPA. Music was good, one of the opening bands was way too loud. I was in the very back and they were still hurting my ears and I've been to plenty of concerts. But I don't know how much of that is the lounge's fault. Overall unique place just lacking in some execution. I would give the parking garage five stars if...
Read moreGet your security in check! I recently attended Voodoo Christmas here, in the last month. The event space is great lighting was excellent, sound was incredible. Event staff was on point. My issue is with security staff and your smoking area. First that area was way too overcrowded and needed to be expanded for the event in question. Now for the real problem, there are absolutely no signs on the door that say no food or drink on that balcony. Second problem you had a security guard working that door with a serious attitude problem. Telling people there is no food or drink allowed on the balcony is one thing and all he should have been saying to anyone but this man was popping off with very rude side remarks to customers stuff like "I shouldn't have to tell you twice." This man doesn't need to be working directly with your customers. I've attended and covered shows at every major concert venue in KC and never seen security act like that. It was disgraceful, disrespectful and...
